btrfs-transacti:1014 blocked for more than 120 seconds.
Hey,
I''ve a 2x4TB RAID1 setup with btrfs on kernel 3.8.0. Under high I/O load
(BackupPC dump or writing a large file over gigabit) I get messages in
syslog such as the one mentioned in the subject.
The full non-logcheck-ignored log is under [1].
A BackupPC dump between the same exact machines onto a 2TB ext4 volume
take 90 minutes on average, the process on the btrfs volume took 465

force re-authentication when accessing different shares
hi all!
using samba 4.9 to export directories for 'virtual' users, i.e. users which
have distinct homedirectories and distinct smbpasswd entries under a
writeable /data partition.
to prevent the need to create /etc/passwd useraccounts (on read-only /), a
self written libnss modul acts as a source. the lib only checks if the
homedirectory exists, returns a fake passwd struct, and finally

Accessing Windows network from application in Wine
I have successfully set up MYOB (accounting software used a lot in Australia) to run with Wine 1.0 (on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS). I now need to be able to access the data file on another PC (Windows XP) via a network which I cannot seem to get to when using the drop down list to find the file - all I can see under 'My Computer' are: C: - fake windows drive, E: - CD drive and Z: - Linux drive.

Video plugin and patched MPlayer
Hi,
I'm using compiz-fusion 0.5.4 on openSUSE 10.3 with Xgl and intel 855GM video
card.
I've patched and compiled (or so I thought) MPlayer1.0rc2, but I can't see no
difference... How can I confirm that it's compiled correctly and how can I
check that it actually does work?

Can't access Samba shares from Nautilus
Hi,
I'm currently experimenting with Samba on a few sandbox machines.
On the server side, I have setup CentOS 7 with a basic Samba setup and
two shares, one public, the other password-protected.
I have two Windows 7 boxes in my network, and I can access the shares
perfectly, log in to the password-protected share, read and write files,
so this seems to work OK.
On my main Linux workstation

Auto-Reconnect After Sleep
Hi,
Is there a way to have my connection re-established when I log back in?
When I first log in I run a map drive script that mounts my shares using
'gio mount "smb://$DC/$mount"' AND 'ln -s
"$XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/gvfs/smb-share:server=$DC,share=$mount"
"$HOME/mnt/$mount" so that it shows up in nautilus as a network drive and I
have it mapped to my local mnt

CentOS6 gvfs disk thrashing
We recently started upgrading users' workstations to CentOS6. Now
we've come across an interesting issue:
~user/.local/share/gvfs-metadata is filling up with tons of files.
Once there are around 69270 of them, no more are being created, and
the NetApp filer the user's home is on logs:
Directory ..../user/.local/share/gvfs-metadata/ reached the maxdirsize
limit. Reduce the number of
