Putting different colors on labels in plot (hclust)
Hi All R-helpers This is my first (but probartly not last ;-) mail to R-help, so hello to everybody. My problem: Is there a way to give colors to the labels (sample labels) in plots for a hclust object for better visualization? I have looked through plot, points, hclust and more but cannot find anything on label color. Anybody know if this is doable? Best regards Jeppe

winxp + sp3 = samba-shared printer hangs the system
hi, since I upgraded some winxp-pro sp2 client to sp3, my samba-shared printers are no-longer usable :-/ With sp3, if I run notepad and choose the men? File-Print, the "print" window hangs and does not show any printer for about 1 minute! The same thing happens when I click on the men? Start-settings-Printer and faxes. With sp2, everything works correctly and I can browse all my

Problem authenticating against a W2K server
Hi there. I'm having a problem letting a Samba server (MYSAMBA) authenticate users (using "security = domain" and a "password server = MYPDC") against a Windows 2000 PDC (MYPDC). The Windows 2000 machine seems (I'm not 100% sure about this) to be configured to restrict anonymous and it seems to me that this is where the problem lies but don't know what to do. I

Cannot join domain
Hi, Samba V 3.0.25 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 PDC: NT 4 Domain. Server security = domain. I have a server (possibly 2) that cannot join the domain. I have tried from the linux server with 'net rpc join' and from the NT Box's Server Manager but it fails. The server appears in Server Manager although you can not get any additional info about it. The NT BOX's event viewer

domain level authentication?
I'm trying to set up a samba server, such that 60 or so win 98 users can log into the linux box and be plopped into their respective home directories on it. I don't want them to be promted for passwords, I want the PDC, an NT box, to take care that in such a wy that I do not need a smbpasswd file. I know almost nothing about NT, but the server running works just fine, and will let people

Domain logon from behind proxy...
I think this has been addressed a few times, but without quite satisfactory results. I have a private subnet behind an NAT proxy server (IPMASQ), and a public subnet on the other side with the NT PDC on the public. (Using both NetBEUI & TCP/IP). The PDC will change later, but currently I'm trying to find out how this all works before I do that. I'm trying to make a client machine on

Upgrading 3.2.15 to 3.3.12 sernet package on opensuse 10.2
Dear all, I have samba 3.2.15 PDC running with an openldap backend and smbd4wins on the same host. There is also a BDC the same as my PDC. After I did an update to 3.3.12 on my BDC this worked on the fly without problems. Then I went on doing the same update on my PDC with the result of chaos. No user was able to logon anymore , when I did a smbclient -L mypdc -N it was extremely slow, and my

different logon scripts and mappings for individual users
i'm not sure how to create different logon scripts for different users. right now i have one logon script called 'logon.bat' that maps all users to a server share and syncs the time with the server. i need to be able to map different users to different server shares. not all users should be mapped to all server shares. these should be automatic mappings. for example: user1 should

universal netlogon script
Hi Guys, Advise, I have 200 users, they all have access to 20 shares in different combinations. They all have their own netlogon scripts... its a management nightmare, is there a way to create a universal netlogon script that I can include all the shares to mount and it will silently fail on the ones it cant? Perhaps there is a smarter way to implement this idea, lynching is welcome, so is

is there a known exploit of Samba "reply_netbios_packet()" Buffer Overflow Vulnerability please ?
Hi, We're running samba 3.0.25a as a PDC on FreeBSD 6.1 in our office and few weeks ago, our samba PDC (and soon all the service hosted on this server) stop responding suddenly :-/ Everything went back to normal as soon as we disconnected from the network, all the hosts that were in the same room as the 10.0.0.20 host (after asking the domain user connected at that moment to this host, do

I am aware that the latest “How to” book in its “Installation section asks me to use command “wget

Samba file server -- samba domain join problem
Hello, I recently upgraded a network to FC3 from RH9 (I know, I know, behind the times). The network is small: one PDC, one file server. The PDC (Samba, LDAP, DNS, DHCP all on FC3) is running fine. Seamless between linux logins and windows XP. Users can log in, see the shares, mount drives. The second file server is just going to be an NFS and Samba server. The plan is to use security=domain

Samba send SPNEGO if Extended Security is ON
I've checked the samba code (sessetup) and found out that samba always send spnego packet when Extended Security capability is ON. (This can't be turned off/on ie. "use spnego = false") Does it mean I can "never" connect to smb server that doesn't support spnego if Extended Security is supported by server? Is my understanding correct?

Upgrade from Samba 3.0.33 to 3.5.8 woes
Greetings, I just did a major upgrade to our Samba infrastructure. I previously had a domain controller and share running 3.0.33 (on one box, one samba instance) I set up a new domain controller running 3.5.8, made that the PDC for our domain, and changed the (now former) domain controller running 3.0.33 to just be a member. Additionally, we moved the IP from the old DC to the new DC (and
