my first samba set-up gives me a headache
Hi everyone, I am setting up a samba server in Win2003 domain. My goal is to be able to connect to shares from a redhat server to win2003 servers and do the same the other way around. I have followed some tutorials, been through the official how-to and still my setup has something wrong that i cannot understand. I would like to use the windows accounts in my Active Directory to do the

lookup_name_smbconf for <user> failed
Hi I have a Red Hat 7.6 server with samba-4.8.3 which report lookup_name_smbconf failed when running "smbclient -L" from another console on the same server. smbclient works fine on an old server running Suse and samba version 3 and thew the user. Any ideas of where to look or what to try? I got this in the logfile: # grep "^ " /var/log/samba/log.172.23.10.25 init_oplocks:

Restricting winbind to the default domain
Greetings, I want to use winbind in conjunction with nsswitch in a pretty large AD. I would like winbind to only map users in the default domain. As it is, winbind map users in other trusted domain of the AD too, which is *not* what I want. I am not sure I made myself very clear, so here is an example. Let's say I have an AD called ACME.COM. There are the domains PROD.ACME.COM and

multi-site SSL certificates
I'm handling mail for several domains, let's call them a.com, b.com, and c.com. I have certificates for each of these domains individually via certbot (letsencrypt) and nginx is happy with all of that. Since I initially configured the site to handle mail only for a.com, my /etc/postfix/main.cf file currently has these two lines: smtpd_tls_cert_file =

samba 4.13.17 ubuntu 20.04
Hi everyone, I'm posting here because I'm facing a kerberos authentication problem after the 2:4.13.17~dfsg-0ubuntu1.20.04.4 samba upgrade. The clients, win10, win11, win2016 cannot login to AD anymore. On server logs the authentication succeeded but in the Event Viewer on the client I have this error: Security-Kerberos The Kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED error from the

Polycom MWI's will not turn off
Hello, I have a bunch of Polycom 601's and Asterisk 1.4.13. The problem is that the MWI indicators will never go off (The blinking red light and envelope in the LCD). I have tried to upgrade to 1.4.14 and all different SIP versions on the Polycoms. I am now at 1.6.7 Here is the SIP Message that turns on the lights: Scheduling destruction of SIP dialog '

Incoming side of SIP trunk does not work unless I add "insecure=very"
The incoming (Class 5 switch to Asterisk PBX) side of a SIP trunk does not work unless I add "insecure=very" to my "Outgoing settings", but I don't want to do that. I do want to authenticate. Outgoing (Asterisk PBX to Class 5 switch) calls do authenticate and work. The Nortel CS 1500 I'm using as the PSTN-side of my SIP trunk has a username and password that it's

dovecot 2.3.x, ECC and wildcard certificates, any issues
Hello, Does dovecot 2.3.x have any issues recognizing or using certificates that are ECC and wildcard? I'm trying to switch my letsencrypt implementation from acme-client which does not support either of those capabilities to acme.sh which does. Since then external clients checking their email has not worked. A manual telnet to mail.example.com 993 gives a connected message but then nothing
