Trouble authenticating to Samba shares with Win 2k3 ADS
I may have a deficiency in understanding the procedure for ADS authentication with samba, but most of the server setup works so far. I have bound a Red Hat Enterprise 5 server to our windows domain, it shows up in DNS and ADS, I can ping it, but I can't get samba shares to be accessible to users, or even get the smbclient to return shares properly. wbinfo -g returns the domain groups

How to - Samba, winbind and Active Directory
Hi, I finally was able to to get samba/winbind to authenticate off W2k3 Active Directory. I seen a lot of info on the web on how to do this but I never seem to have one site that got me through it all. Anyway, with all the info I gathered I was able to put it all together, get it working and documented all the steps I used. I'm running Redhat 4 (2.6.9-55.0.2) with compiled Samba 3.0.25c

Severe problem with Samba
Dear All, we are experiencing severe problems with Samba 2.2.0 (with quota support) running on a dual processor (400MHz) Sun E450 running Solaris 2.7. This is used as a central file server for student diskspace, accessed by approx 1200 PCs running NT 4. Up until recently we experienced some, what we assume to be, loading issues with connections during the middle of the day being slow.

[LLVMdev] Patch - big stackframes on SPU
Hello all, currently the SPU backend does not handle big stack frames (>16*511 bytes) nicely. llc asserts on malformed machine instructions. (Assertion `MI->getOperand(OpNo).isImm() && "printDFormAddr first operand is not immediate") E.g. the function: define i32 @foo() nounwind { entry: %retval = alloca i32 %big_data = alloca [1000 x i32] store i32 3840, i32*

Also, most systems have shared libraries in /usr/lib and these routines are meant to be linked against and used. For example, on darwin, there sinf is resolved from a shared library, you declare it and

samba ADS-based authentication fails with NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER but wbinfo works
Once again, I forgot to change the "To:" line so apologies to Andrew, who will have this twice.... Hi Andrew, thanks for the response. (I've modified the subject line because I just realised I mis-remembered the error message when I typed the subject line before...) I was running 3.0.33 on both boxes with identical conf files; it wasn't working then, so I updated to 3.5 in

ps -A | grep smbd?
Hi folks, I have had a samba 2.2.8a running for a while on a suse box. Now recently I have had some strange problems. "ps -A | grep nmb" Shows nothing. But, "lsof | grep mbd" shows me smbd and nmbd are running. The smbd.pid and nmbd.pib are in /usr/var/locks/. Now, why out of the blue would "ps -A" not show the processes? I upgraded samba to 2.2.8a a while ago,
