Problems with ADS join after Samba update on FC4
Hi,
I used to have a working Samba + Winbind configuration in ADS mode under FC4;
Samba version was 3.0.14a-2. I joined a W2k domain, and winbind correctly
returned the user information. krb5.conf and smb.cong have been modified
according to Howtos and tutorials found on the net.
One day Samba has been updated to 3.0.23a-1.fc4.1 and it stopped working.
No modification has been done to the

krb5 + winbind + ads (back to ads)
Hello again folks,
I give up trying RPC. I'm trying to avoid update samba package of my
Ubuntu 9.04 server (amd64) so I decided to try ADS again. This way I'm
using the following versions:
krb5-user 1.6.dfsg.4~beta1-5ubuntu2
samba* 2:3.3.2-1ubuntu3.1
I'm having problem joining a AD domain. I suspect there is something
related to how my company's directory was setup and I

Unable to create principle and join domain with solaris / samba 3.5.8
Has anyone had any success using net ads join to create a new service
principal and join Active Directory using samba 3.5.8. This works fine
in 3.0.35 but I'm not able to get a working create/join with 3.5.8
In samba 3.0.35 (on a host which is already allowing kerberised
loginsvia AD), the following works:
net ads join createupn='CIFS/host.domain.com' \

ADS Join problem samba3.0.14a kerberos 1.3.5
Hi List,
I'm getting an error join an ADS Domain, using samba 3.0.14a & kerberos
1.3.5.
When I look at the debug output from the join attempt, it almost seems
as though
The join is looking for an OU or something from the AD that doesn't
exist. I'm not an
Windows person and the AD admins are not around to help peep this out.
Can anyone take a look at the debug output below and

Can't join AD anymore after migration to 3.0.30
After migrating from 3.0.26a to 3.0.30 I cannot join my AD member server
to the domain anymore:
I get a DCERPC_FAULT_INVALID_TAG.
As I didn't change my Windows 2000 SBS Server, this looks like a new
feature in Samba 3.0.30.
Do I have to also migrate my Heimdal - if so, which version is required?
Kind regards,
Jens
P.S: Is there a way to find out the code changes in Samba 3.0.30?

'net ads join' Segmentation fault for one ADS tree but not another?!
The cmd 'net ads join -U username' dies with 'Segmentation fault' for
our PROD ADS environment, however works fine in our DEV ADS environment!
The only [Linux] configuration change between the two environments is
update SAMBA and Kerberos config to read 'ADS' vs 'ADSDEV' and change
the domain controller FQDN.

I can't get mod_auth_ntlm_winbind to work
Scenario:
Centos 5 x86_64 machine with samba-3.0.23c-2.el5.2.0.2
The machine is a PDC, Windows 2000 users logon, get
profiles, etc.
I'm trying to set up a folder in apache that uses
NTLM authentication using mod_auth_ntlm_winbind.
I've followed:
http://adldap.sourceforge.net/mod_auth_ntlm_winbind.php
winbindd is running, and ntlm_auth seems to work:

"net lookup sid" fails to get user's domain
When I run the following "net lookup sid" command, I get:

This is wrong in that "\fhess" should be "NIST\fhess". The other direction
works fine:

I'm having trouble setting up samba as an AD member at a remote site.
