Help needed: strange issue with share mapping at logon
Hello all,
I've run into an issue while migrating a client's Samba PDC from Debian
3.x to OpenSuSE 10.3, have been beating my head against it for over a
week, and am now turning to the mailing list for help.
We're running Samba 3.0.26a-3-1478-SUSE-SL10.3 authenticating against
OpenLDAP 2.3.37. Integration of Samba and OpenLDAP works, and importing
the 2000+ existing user accounts

More voice prompts available now
Thanks to a generous donation by VoicePulse
(http://www.voicepulse.com/) there are now a wide selection of useful
(and not-so-useful) voice prompts available on my website, recorded
by Allison Smith (http://www.theivrvoice.com/) There were some apps
and dialplan tricks that people were waiting on release because of a
lack of voice prompts; hopefully I received and remembered your
requests.

How to shade part of a density plot
I'm trying to shade part of a density plot. The code I'm trying (using
the Old Faithful data as an example) is something like this:
# The Old Faithful geyser data
data(faithful)
d <- density(faithful$eruptions, bw = "sj")
plot(d)
polygon(d[d$x>4], col = "wheat")
I expected that the part of the curve to the right of 4 on the x axis
should be shaded, but nothing

Problems with "predict" function
Hello,
I am synthesising some sales data over a twelve month period, and then trying to
use the "predict" function, firstly to generate a thirteenth month forecast with
upper and lower 95% confidence limits. So far so good
But what I then want to do is add the upper sales value at the 95th confidence
limit to the vector of thirteen months and their respective sales to create a

Set context based on CID...
I was wondering if someone might be able to offer a suggestion to me
about how I might go about dropping a caller into a context specific to
their CID. For example, I would like to be able to dial Asterisk from a
specific number (a mobile phone) and have it drop me into a context
other then the one that normal callers receive that has more options
tailored to things I might want to do. I assume

tcl/tk bind destroy event
Hello!
I want to create a messagebox whenever the user wants to destroy the window
(e.g. <Alt-F4> or the 'x' in the right top corner) and ask if a modified file
should be saved or not.
If 'cancel' is chosen then nothing should happen and the windows still should be
existing. This doesn't work. When I press cancel the window will be destroyed
although.

Strange unexplainable CUPS problem after upgrade to 5.10
I manage a bunch of workstations at the Wendell Free Library. They are all
diskless, boot via PXE and mount all of their file systems via NFS from a
server. All of the machines are 32-bit and run CentOS (fully up-to-date
running 5.10). There are two printers with queues managed on the server. The
server 'shares' these printers on the local LAN (eg with all of the
workstations).

[Off Topic] humour, XMAS, ground loop - good business strategy
hi, I received this e-mail which contains a "ballad", at first I thought it
was junk mail, but then I read through it, for the EE members of this list,
it may be quite humorous.
I don't know if the ballad is original, but at least it's the XMAS season,
so it's something to lighten up your day, eh?

AIX / NT Networking
I'm running AIX 4.3.3MR9 on an H50 with NT4.0SP6a clients.
Samba is 2.2.4 compiled on the system with GCC.
I've been having an issue for a few weeks and it really looked like some
type of name resolution issue. When NT clients browse samba shares from my
AIX server they take 30-60 seconds to come up. Sometimes they won't come up
at all. All of my DNS, WINS, and hosts files check

OT: WinNT(2000) player to open files with unicode names?
Sorry for posting somewhat off-topic...
Most my music files have names in hebrew (FAT32 partition). I dual-boot
between a hebrew win98 (where these files are opened nicely by winamp,
freeamp and any other program) and a hebrew win2000, where windows media
player is the only program I've seen so far to open them. All others say
"can't open file ???? ?? ???.ogg" (or .mp3) - both

Indexing Mail faster
Dear Peter,
My inbox is MDA_external
Storage: 17GB of 24GB
Subject / From / To is fast but FTS(Full Text Search) for body is
horrible. I suppose this is where we need Apache Solr.
Do you think my mail storage format is bad? Do I need to change for better
performance?
Please advise
