Samba 3.0.28a integration with 2003 AD and password lockout policy?
I'm encountering some oddness using Samba 3.0.28a, MIT kerberos (1.6.3)
for user authentication on Linux, to 2003 Active Directory.
The password policy dictated by AD should lock accounts after 6
incorrect login attempts within a 30 minute period. However, it seems to
halve that when logging in to these Linux boxes via ssh - so after 3
incorrect login attempts, the AD account gets locked.

Deduplication data for CentOS?
Hi list,
is there any working solution for deduplication of data for centos?
We are trying to find a solution for our backup server which runs a bash
script invoking xdelta(3). But having this functionality in fs is much
more friendly...
We have looked into lessfs, sdfs and ddar.
Are these filesystems ready to use (on centos)?
ddar is sthg different, I know.
Thx

Floating windows in TCLTK
Dear anybody dealing with TCLTK on R
I'm trying, without any success, to get a simple TCLTK window to remain
floating on top of the RGui and RConsol windows when the later have focus. I
cannot find reference in the TCKTK documentation and fear that I'm missing
something quite fundamental.
My objective is to make a simple button populated menu to invoke R
functions. I wish the TCLTK menu

Hiding shares and/or their contents from Windows Explorer
Is anyone of aware of any known problems with Samba 2.2.2 and Windows 95,
dealing with hiding shares and/or their content from Windows Explorer? We
need to map these shares so our application can function properly...but the
shares and/or their content should never be accessible via Windows
Explorer. We have browseable = no for the shares. We also tried the
"hide"option, but the

Samba 3, Windows XP SP1
Hello everyone,
I am having a problem I can't find an answer to.
Background: We had a RH 7.3/8.0 box with samba 2.2.7. Workstations were
Windows 2000. We have 5 roaming users with laptops. when the roaming users
would go home, they were able to log into the laptops without the presence
of the domain (an yes, they were logging into the domain user at home).
Current problem: Running RH 9.0

Attach to SAMBA share without logging in to Win98?
Is it possible to set things up in SAMBA so that a Win98 box that hasn't
been logged into can access a share? I have a small home network that
is shielded from the Internet and would like to have a public directory
that can easily be accessed for my wife and daughter.
Thanks,
Craig

LLVM z80 backend and llvm-dis missing?
Inspired by Jason Turner's talk at CppCon 2016: Jason Turner “Rich Code
for Tiny Computers: A Simple Commodore 64 Game in C++17”
I got interested in writing a Zilog Z80 backend for LLVM. Jason actually
did no such thing, but instead wrote a x86-to-6502 translator (reassembler
he calls it) https://github.com/lefticus/x86-to-6502
So I'm now trying to bootstrap this project.

wineconsole crashes - what am I doing wrong?
Dear All,
I am running Wine under Linux - Suse 10.1 (kernel 2.6.16). GUI apps work
fine (eg "wine notepad", "wine matlab") and wcmd works too ("wine wcmd"),
but any CUI program causes a crash, like this:
/home/gcunning> wineconsole --backend=user "c:freedos\edit.com"
Warning: unprotecting memory to allow real-mode calls.

[LLVMdev] Byte code portability (was Re: libstdc++ as bytecode, and compiling C++ to C)
Hello Philipp,

Not llvm, but llvm-gcc only. I've successfully used llvm-gcc for
crosscompiling with host=linux and target=mingw32 platform.
So, you have just to supply host, build and target triples to llvm-gcc
configure and be also sure, that configure will find target headers,

sequential t-test - replies
[my original message to s-news & r-help is attached ]
No one possessed or knew of any S/R code for the sequential t-test. Also
it doesn't appear in the SAS index.
One or two suggested obtaining the S+ seqtrial software which may (or may
not) cover this, but this seemed to be a bit of a "hammer to crack a nut".
I have written a function based on the treatment in Wetheril

No congestion
Hey!
I'm having a small problem. I'm using Realtime to
store SIP account information. Dialing works just
fine, but when dialing a person already on the
phone I don't get a busy tone.
Eg, Phone 100 calls 200 and they chat with each other
phone 150 calls 100, and gets a regular ringing tone
what I would is for phone 150 to receive a busy
tone since phone 100 is already speking with

Support for different Architectures
Dear All,
I am new to FLAC. I have to port FLAC on sh4 architecture. Can somebody
please let me know which architectures FLAC supports today? Also if
somebody has an idea about the functionality of the code written in
assembly, it would be of great help.
Thanks and Regards

Barnard's sequential t-test code ?
Does anyone have, or know of, some S or R code to implement
the sequential t-test ?
The test is outlined in Kendall & Stuart vol 2A, ch 24, and a 'how
to do it' with a set of tables is given in 'Design & Analysis of
Industrial Experiments' ( O.L.Davies).
I'm interested in obtaining/creating an Splus or R application which
calculates the upper and lower curves
