Wine and opengl error!!!
Hi all,
I'm having trouble running windows games from Fedora 9, 64 bit, using wine
rc3. I've tried Command & Conquer 3, Age Of Mythology and Jazz Jackrabbit 2.
All games fail. I mostly get an error saying that direct3d9 won't work
without opengl. However, I have opengl.
I've run glxgears and it runs fine. Following is the output:
8877 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1775.333 FPS

Print spooler full with completed print jobs
Hi,
I have Panasonic KX-P7105 printer connected through LPT1 port to the "D-link
DP-101P+" print server.
This printer is defined as raw and I am using it only for printing from
different windows clients.
Drivers are only on windows client side. On linux side I never print one
page.
Suddenly, in windows print spooler I can see already printed documents from
every user. As

FW: Print jobs hang in Samba, don't go to UNIX spooler
I hate to follow up on my own post, but here's an additional
bit of info: I've tried changing the "print command" setting
in smb.conf to log the command and parameters when a job is
printed. However, no output is ever logged; it's acting as if
the print job is being spooled but the print command isn't
being executed. The print command I added is:
print command = echo

Can cups + samba act like an ordinary windows spooler?
Hi people, Im currently using samba 3.0.14 on a debian stable with a cups.
Im able to export my cups printers to samba and set the drivers, the
cups drivers.
The problem im facing is that when I go to the "printers" share thru a
windows client, when I double click on a printer the printer just gets
mapped, with no posibility to add any privilegies to the printer on the
windows client,

I still have the unit in question; however, since the segfault
happened inside libc, I won't be able

samba authentication awfully slow
Hey there everybody.
I am new to the list, so bear with me if make mistakes :)
I updated my Server from FC7 to FC9 and with it came Samba
3.2.0pre3-9.fc9 (heaven knows why it had to be a pre version).
I reused my old config and noticed that displaying all hosts in my
workgroup as well as authentication went from normal to awfully slow.
Once the connection is established it is bearable, though

Send syslog to a remote server
Hi,
I am running CentOS 5 and I tried to config flowing statement in
syslog.conf to send syslog messages to a remote server running on FC
9, but it did not work. There was nothing send to the FC9.
"*.info;mail.none;authpriv.none;cron.none @@192.168.1.5"
Could anyone advice whether the syslog in CentOS 5 does not support
remote server, or I could be missing something?

Wine doesn't work on FC9
I recently upgraded from Fedora 8 to Fedora 9. Wine-0.9.58 was included. When I tried to run an already installed app, nothing happened. Wine configuration didn't run either. I examined the shell scripts in /usr/bin and found that winecfg, wineconsole, winedbg, winefile, and winemine all contained the same scripts, starting with "Wrapper script to start a Winelib application once it

Print jobs hang in Samba, don't go to UNIX spooler
I have encountered a strange printing problem with Samba 2.2.4 running under
HP-UX 11i.
In the process of investigating a printing problem, I have found that Samba
has stopped passing jobs along to the UNIX lp spooler as of yesterday
afternoon.
When NT/W2K clients print to printers on my server, the jobs are accepted,
Samba
spool files are created in the spool directory defined for the printer

I am new to llvm, and have a trivial question. When I compile the

Volume group "VolGroup00" not found
Hi,
I am compiling Xen from source on FC9. On booting the
Xen dom0 kernel it gives the following error:
Volume group "VolGroup00" not found
and ultimately the error that switchroot: mount failed: No such file or
directory
So my question is that why it fails to detect logical volumes?
Thanks,
Abdul Qadeer

Hello list,
My samba server stopped allowing access to shares this morning. It gave
some funky errors. Has anyone seen these before? The OS is Fedora 9 and
the version is...
Version 3.2.0pre3-9.fc9
Am using ADS security for serving shares.
Server is EXAMPLEDC.EXAMPLE.CORP
Looks like it is saying no login servers in client log but, there are
two listed in smb.conf and they both replied to a ping
