Using windows homedirs as a linux homedirs
Hello, I would like to have linux users to have same homedirs as in windows. Now home directories are on windows 2000 server. How I can map users homedirectory from windows 2000 server to linux workstation with credentials user gives at logintime? Or even better, how I can persistently map those homedirectories to linux (without mapping them as an administrator)? -- /\_/\ ( o.o )

how to disable homedirs?
Hi, how can i disable the homedir? I have a Domain login configuration, but do not want server based profiles. After I add a workstation to the domain, the user profiles, created during the first login of a domain user, on that machine are always server based. Sure, I can change this profile to a local profile, but I think I can change this it in the samba configuration, that all profiles are

links causing dovecot endless search through user's homedirs
Hello, My user's imap folder locations are a mess. Some have them in /home/username/mail but a lot of them just have them in /home/username. So I need to have dovecot's base imapdir pointed directly at the user's homedirs. My problem now is that a lot of users have many links in their homedirs. Some even have circular links, such as: /home/username/foo/foo1/foo2/foo3/foo4 ->

Problem with homedirs on sambaserver due to IE
Hi all, I could really use some hellp, first of all, a little short description of the scenario.. The company that I am trying to help out looks like this, PDC with NT4, this computer held both homedirs and profiles until 1-2 weeks ago. They where then transferrer to a new server running debian (woody) and samba 2.2.3a-6. This is my problem, IE is storing some cache-files in the homedir and with

not creating homedirs when using maildir format
Hi all, I'm in the process of setting up dovecot, but for some reason, it's not creating home directories if they don't already exist. I have the following line in dovecot.conf: default_mail_env = maildir:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/%u I have set permissions on /home to allow everyone full access, so creating directories in /home by dovecot non-root processes shouldn't be a

Nis homedirs
Greetings, I'm using 2.0.0-alpha13 on Solaris (compiling with gcc 2.8.1 on Solaris 2.5, running on 2.5, 2.5.1, and 2.6). I see this in the smb.conf.5 man page: nis homedir (G) Get the home share server from a NIS (or YP) map. For unix systems that use an automounter, the user's home directory will often be mounted on a workstation on demand from a remote

Double homedirs and tilde problems in case of chroot in passwd-file / static dbs.
Recently I've made the post about "double homedir" problem, but I couldn't recreate it later. Here're the exact steps to make it happen (configuration is at the bottom): 1) set configuration as below with passwd-files 2) clean testms dir (not necessary though) 3) reload dovecot (HUP is enough) 4) access the server with any client using testms user (make sure no other

Sporadic Copying XP/2000
Hello, I've setup a basic Linux Workgroup via SAMBA. Everything is working fine except for the following: I just replaced a Windows 2003 Storage Server with CentOS 5.1. When my users start copying TIF images from the now CentOS 5.1 server, XP copies the images sporadically. For example: folder1, folder2, folder3, folder4; each folder has 5 sub-folders in it numbered sequentially

Persistent, sporadic failure in make_bak_dir mkdir
Through several versions up to and including the current 3.0.9 I experience sporadic, repeating (but not predictably) errors of this form: > rsync: make_bak_dir mkdir "/REPO/backup/XXXX-data1-20120727-040453" failed: File exists (17) > rsync: keep_backup failed: "/REPO/backup/XXXX-data1/data1/A182/tb5178/tb5178.hebb/out.TENT_warn.txt" ->

Sporadic one way audio problem
Hi all again, I've got a problem with sporadic one way audio calls, which means sometimes I can't hear the calling party (call is established, but audio is missing). Today I received ~90 calls, one of them got this problem. I've got two networks involved, without NAT: - 192.168.1.X, in there one nic of my server and all the phones - a private net to my provider, in there a nic of my

Sporadic network issues
I'm seeing this problem with both the virtio and e1000 driver with both linux and windows guests. About 5 - 10% of the VMs I launch have network problems. They seem to always get an IP from the DHCP server (dnsmasq), but afterwards either they can not make an outside network connection or they lose connectivity at a later time. Sometimes the connectivity comes back, sometimes it doesn't.

TCP reset (RST) networking issue (maybe was 'Sporadic network issues")
Hi, I'm seeing a very similar problem to the thread "Sporadic networking issues" [1]. In our setup, some TCP operations receive unexpected RST packets when executed on the guest. I can see these RST packets via wireshark but can't explain their source. We originally uncovered this when some 'git clone' operations failed with "Broken Pipe" in the guests.

[LLVMdev] Sporadic build failure doing 'make -j' from CMake-generated Unix Makefiles in AArch64 backend
Hi everyone. I'm seeing a sporadic failure in building the AArch64 backend when doing a parallel make from CMake-generated Unix makefiles: + (cd "$WORKSPACE/llvm/build" && cmake -G "Unix Makefiles" \ -DCMAKE_C_COMPILER="$TOOLCHAIN/usr/bin/clang" \ -DCMAKE_CXX_COMPILER="$TOOLCHAIN/usr/bin/clang++" \

Patch to avoid sporadic hangup during normal conversation
Hi, Mark. I'm posting a little patch that permits to set the busycount value in dsp (via chan_zap), for systems that have "busydetect=yes" in zapata.conf and have noticed sporadic hangup, caused by incorrect cadence detection during normal conversation. With this patch, it's possible to increase the busycount from 3 (default) to 5 (max, because DSP_HISTORY=5), simply adding a

Sporadic Logon Issues from Windows 2003
I have a Samba server (3.0.37) acting as a domain controller for several computers running Linux, Windows XP, Windows 7, and just recently a Windows 2003 server that replaced a Windows NT server. A couple times a day, the Windows 2003 server generates an error like the one below for everyone that attempts to connect to it. Throughout the rest of the day, there is no issue at all, but several

Sporadic problem
I have an annoying sporadic problem and would appreciate your advice. Every 30 minutes I run the script that boils to following code: while read d do rsync --password-file=$p -rRlxupogtSq --delete $u@$1::$2/$d $4 > /dev/null 2>&1 & print "`date +'%T'` sync $2/$d $4" >>$log done < $KEEPERS Here $KEEPERS is generated ahead of time once a

Sporadic Issues
Thanks for all the feedback. We haven't found any specific reason for the reported issue, but since our site redesign our listenership has gone up significantly so we're going to stick with it until we can find a specific issue with icecast, media element, or some other component.
