krb5 library issues when Compiling 3.5.2 and 3.4.7 on AIX 5.3
I have been trying to configure/compile Samba 3.5.2 and 3.4.7 on AIX 5.3 with ML-11 and ML-10. The configure issues that I am getting only occur if I use --with-ads. I can run configure on both versions if I do not include ADS support. The errors I get are: checking for krb5_principal_get_realm... no checking for krb5_princ_realm... no configure: WARNING: krb5_mk_req_extended not found in

File size limit = 2G?
Hello All, I'm running Samba 2.2.7a on RedHat 8.0. Connecting to a Windows 2000 200GB share works OK, except for files > 2 GBytes. The linux box can see the large Windows files, but does not see their correct sizes -- it reports an absurdly big size when using ls -l. Files less that 2GB show up correctly. Trying to create a 3G file on the Windows box from the linux box, using:

Authoring a HOWTO
I am in the process of authoring a Samba-LDAP-PDC HOWTO for Mandrake users that will allow cross platform ( Linux / M$ ) network user authentication. Lastnight I ran rpm --rebuild --with ldap samba-2.2.7a-2mdk.src.rpm and it produced a list of packages that I needed to install in order to compile this version of samba. I did so but I neglected to write down the list. I did the install of

回复: configure with --with-ads failed get "krb5 libs don't have allfeatures required for Active Directory support" error
thanks very much for answer. I think if I just want to build file server of samba4, it should use the autoconf source3/ build system to build samba, is it right? do you mean if I want to use a system MIT kerberos, it require kerberos1.8 or above in source3? I found it can build samba-3.6.9/source3 wit MIT kerberos1.4. is it right? ------------------ ???? ------------------

winbind could not get info
Hi, After a serious power failure two days ago and a abrupt shutdown of our Samba server, i noticed today that winbind could not get info on some users from a Win2003 AD. wbinfo -u work fine; wbinfo -g work fine; but, for example: wbinfo -i ep2025 returns Could not get info for user ep2025 wbinfo -n ep2025 S-1-5-21-455433055-921777165-2450110497-3563 User (1) wbinfo -S

Samba 3.5.2 compile on AIX
I'm having trouble compiling Samba 3.5.2 on AIX 5.3 TL10 SP1. I'm compiling Samba with ADS support against a locally installed Heimdal 1.3.2 Kerberos installation and I'm getting a failure while compiling clikrb5.c This is using the IBM xl_C compiler. Idmap_rid differs on FreeBSD and SLES!
Hi, I'm trying to setup some servers with Samba and Winbind. One of the servers are both a Samba server and a NFS server so I want to have the same ID:s on the files that I export with NFS. All users are all in one AD domain. The problem is that the Samba/NFS server are running SLES 10 and the others are running FreeBSD 6.2 and they get different UID:s and GID:s. All the FreeBSD servers are

zypprepo on sles 10.3 and 10.4
Hi, I''ve used the zypprepo type successfully on sles 11.1 to register my server to a repo. However, I can''t get it to work on sles 10.3 and 10.4. However using the zypper sa command I can easily register my repos but it seems impossible to make it work using zypprepos. My /etc/ zypp/zypp.conf file exist with the correct information that I specified in my manifest, but there seems

libpthread warning while compiling samba 3.0 on Suse Linux (SLES 10)
I compile Samba for the first time on LINUX (SLES 10) and have a weird libpthread warning message. I dug the list to find some explanations about the way I have to handle this problem, without success. Below are the 'configure' parameters and the part of config.log about libpthread. Is there a way to not link libpthread to avoid this performance degradation ? What must I do with this
