deprecate pdb_ldap and "NT4-like" domains in Samba 4.13 to allow removal for Samba 4.14 in March 2021?
With all the recent talk about ldap stacks, I wondered if we could discuss deprecating and eventually removing pdb_ldap? The reason is that pdb_ldap is primary user of smbldap. smbldap is in turn yet another of our ldap stacks (I have found four so far), in the sense that while it uses OpenLDAP under the hood, it replicates with libads, ldb and tldap the 'get AD-thing out of an LDAP

Apparently due to a mismatch between the capitalization of the Windows account and the Unix account (Administrator vs administrator) I managed to lock the account before catching the discrepenacy. # pdbedit -v administrator Unix username: Administrator NT username: Administrator Account Flags: [ULX Bad password count

How do I get to access my home directory on a Linux server running Samba from a Windows XP client? I'm getting "NT MD4 password check failed" in the log file even though the Windows client is listed in hosts.equiv. More information below... I have a small home

homes in Samba 3.5
Hello I know that this is about outdated Samba versions, but I have to stick with those. And after trying now for days without getting anywhere I'm looking for help from others. We used an old Thecus-NAS as fileserver (no domain etc). It uses a Samba 3.0.26 which works as we want. Now we bought newer NAS-boxes, but those too use old Samba versions, 3.5.19. This in itself is not disturbing

GLSL errors please help as soon as possible.
I am trying very hard to get Elder scrolls oblivion working on playonlinux. I found out that a key factor in this is the GLSL setting. When it is disabled the game will run great with no errors except for the fact that the players charecter and npcs have horrible graphical glitches. To give you an example:[Image:

Samba 3.5.8 on AIX 5.3 with IBM LDAP libraries
Hello, We're currently using Samba 3.5.8 with the IBM AIX supplied LDAP libraries on AIX 5.3 (using gcc). We were not able to compile this originally without making the following modifications: 1. create a symlink libldap.a to libibmldapn.a in /usr/ldap/lib 2. change ber_init() to ber_init2() in the following 3 c files passdb/pdb_nds.c line 234

I'm using Red Hat 9, updated completely via apt. Samba 3.0.9 installed from apt and i am using the stock ldap server that installed with red hat as my back end. I followed the samba.idealx.org guide to get to where I am

I'm using as well the Idealx script to manage the LDAP. The fact: I have a very strange behavior. The domain policy have been setup with the
