Unable to get default yp domain
Hi,
running here samba-ldap-pdc (debian sarge, samba 3.0.14a-3sarge, cups).
Domain users can delete their own print jobs. But they should also be able
to delete print jobs of other domain users. But this does not work, because
of access problems.

Printing problems with w2k clients
We have a strange problem with our w2k clients:
We use two Samba server (one is PDC and the other is Print-Server -
operate in security=server mode with password server=PDC). All printers
are configured on the Print-Server with the Windows NT Printer Wizzard:
uploading driver for W9x, NT 4.0 and W2k; setting misc. options, like
Paper feeder and so on .. .
So far so good!

I know in some ways the answer is RTFM, but I'm not even sure which docs to
read or where they are.
I've posted about my printing problem before (Win2k SP2 won't print to my
Linux server printer), and even though I've had some suggestions, nothing
has worked (after a solid week of trying combinations in smb.conf, I'm

Problems configuring Samba PDC + FDS error "No privileges assigned to SID"
I am having trouble getting samba-3.0.24-11 setup as a PDC with an
ldap backend using FDS on a FC6 test box. I have installed the
1.0.4-1 version of the directory server accepting the defaults except
for the server name with out any problems. I can query the directory
server and it is populated with the proper objects. I am using the
instructions in the Howto:Samba documentation on the FDS Wiki

Shares all empty after upgrade to 3.0.14a-fc4
Hi,
Hoping you can help. I've updated my samba server (PDC) from 3.0.10 to
3.0.14a as part of updating from FC3 to FC4.
I now find I cant see inside any of the shares, even though I can see
the share names themselves and the directories are quite readable to
Linux processes. So, e.g. I can see that I have a share "Users", but not
the contents of it. With one exception all shares

2cent note-- RE: Access denied, unable to connect to prin ter
We had a similar problem here, different but perhaps not entirely unique if
someone else happens to make the same mistake. We give kudos to the samba
logging. =)
We have a linux samba print server with cups as a member server of an nt4
domain. The win98 users could print fine, win 2k could not - but that
wasn't the problem, though only these systems had an "access denied" error

VFS module core dump in make_connection
Hi,
I have a problem with a VFS module that I am developing. The module
has been runing fine under 3.0.6, but then I didn't have time to work
on it for a while and meanwhile I upgraded samba to the latest sarge
debian release 3.0.14a and now that I have got the sources and again
recompiled my module and included it into the /usr/lib/samba/vfs dir,
its now core dumping. I am sort of at loss

Samba 2.2.6 Write Problem
Hi all,
recently I asked for help with a problem Samba had to write files
(http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/samba/2002-November/085003.html,
http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/samba/2002-November/085083.html).
Since that hasn't solved, and since it occurs regardless of changes
of the smb.conf, I'd like to post some passages of the smb log file
(log level 4) of the attempt to copy a file to

Problems with Samba and Active Directory
Afternoon!
Let me apologize first if this is something soooo simple, but i have been
working on this for days and I'm still stuck on one part.
Where to start. Small user environment (under 100 users) using Active
Directory on Win 2k3 server. Running Fedora 8 on a server, and I am trying
to get it added to the domain, and to be able to access a share using
Windows usernames and passwords.

werr_access_denied when running setdriver for a printer
Hi all,
I'm getting WERR_ACCESS_DENIED error for some of the printers when running
setdriver printer_name printer_driver as part of the cupsaddsmb step.
Weirdly, it works for some printers, and never works for others, while all
the printers have the same settings. Samba 3.5.20 with CUPS 1.5.4.
Does this part of log give any clue of why could this happen?

samba-3 problem joining ws to domain
Howdi,
I can't add a w2k workstation to samba3 domain with my username. If I add my
username to "admin users" list, then I can add the box to domain (but
overritten by euid). My goal is, that joining domain can be done without
using "admin users" option.
Groupmapping is done and works. When machine is in domain and log in, I get
full admin rights on that box. Removing the

printing problems and permissions
I've got Samba 2.2.3 running as a PDC for some Win9x and WinNT
clients. Everything seems to be fine except that occasionally (but
rather often, at least every second day) printing from one of the
NT-clients is impossible. In the log file it says (word wrap here in the
editor):
