Dear all, this is the first public announcement of scannedonly. Scannedonly is a samba VFS module that ensures that only files that have been scanned for viruses are visible and accessible to the end user. Scannedonly was developed because of scalability problems with samba-vscan: high server loads when (the same) files were requested often, and timeouts when large zip files were requested.

Hello Is it possible to use clamav with samba 4 (4.1.6) - e.g. vfs module. Or is there another way to scan files on a share? There are some vfs modules for samba 3.X but I can?t find one for samba 4. Thanks for any help With Regards, Anup

Hello, Recently, I've spent the last few days trying to get some unix client boxes to authenticate logins via winbind, so all of our unix system accounts can be maintained from active directory. So far, everything is working, and users can authenticate into the system, but they are assigned random uid/gid values, based on the smb.conf as well as the internal winbind_idmap.tdb file.

Hi Nik, Flushing MDB can only be done when we are managing it per station not per port. For that we need to have MCAST_TO_UCAST, EHT and FAST_LEAVE. Here one more point is - some vendors may offload MCAST_TO_UCAST conversion in their own FW to reduce CPU. If the code you are running in parallel is complicated, maybe foreach is not sophisticated enough to find all the variables you refer to. Maybe use parallel::clusterExport yourself?
