Migrating from RHEL to Centos
Hi, I m currently running my production servers on RHEL 4.6 & would like to migrate to Centos4.6 as it has more benefits & advantages. I looked at the Centos release notes available at http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4.6/os/i386/RELEASE-NOTES-en.html and understood that the basic difference between RHEL & Centos are look/feel related & binaries, functionalities are almost same. Append line size limit in syslinux 3.72
Hi, Is there still a known limit of 255 characters of the append line in syslinux (isolinux) from the config file ? A quick test showed me that when the APPEND line in the config-file is longer than 255 characters it arrives truncated in Linux. While typing more than 255 characters on the commandline does not cause the same issue and in Linux the kernel commandline exceeds the 255 character

Server 2008 and Samba 3.0.25b

The Samba machine is a RHEL4.6 machine running Samba 3.0.25b. I am joined to the mixed mode AD domain via the command "net rpc join -U administrator <domain>". I am not using winbind or kerberos. Or

Jobs hanging printer after printing
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me out here. I have an apple laserwriter (postscript) printer attached to the network via ethertalk. I have the printer set up in cups, using the pap backend found here (http://users.phg-online.de/tk/CUPS/backend/pap). I then set the printer up through samba so that windows (XP) users can print to it. However if I print a test page from windows, the job prints

Vorbis press
Ogg Vorbis is mentioned in CNET's MP3 Insider newsletter. I'm sending this article and another one that takes more thorough look at internet music distribution (from the same newsletter). -------------------------------------------------------------------- MP3: IT'S NOT REALLY FREE There is a widespread illusion that the MP3 file format is not a proprietary codec. It'd be nice,

tc filter change/replace
I am wondering whether the commands ''tc filter change'' and ''tc filter replace'' are working. Googling around revealed a few emails on the LARTC stating that unfoirtunately they do not work. A quick check showed that they are still not implemented (properly). Some propose a solution to build a second tree of filters and apply the 2nd one when a need for it
