wbinfo -a not working
Hello, I'm trying to connect my Debian 4 samba box to my Windows 2003Server Active Directory. I successfully joined the domain, with net ads join. Wireshark captures a lot of packets going over the wire, and I get the message "joined the domain successfully". In my AD, under 'computers', the samba box appeared. So that all works. Asking a kerberos ticket for a user with

Stronger security with BSD Firewall and Freeradius
I've seen that is possible to use switch port blocking with freeradius and cisco switches via 802.1X and EAP protocol. Here is more info: http://wiki.freeradius.org/FreeRADIUS_Active_Directory_Integration_HOWTO What if I don't have switch that supports 802.1X or I want that blocking is done by FreeBSD, not the switch. Because FreeBSD is the firewall or gateway to some networks. Is there

freeRADIUS + krb5 + samba + AD
Hi, We are using freeRADIUS 1.1.6. + samba 3.0.1 + krb5-1.3.2 talk to active-directory(win2k3). Followed by: http://wiki.freeradius.org/FreeRADIUS_Active_Directory_Integration_HOWTO Now it can work. But there are multiple domains in active-directory. Can samba or krb5 support mutiple domains? How to configure krb5.conf and smb.conf can let it support multiple domains?

Samba 3.0 alpha 17 Active Directory question
Hi, all! I am working on testing Samba 3.0 Alpha 17 in order to integrate it with Active Directory using Kerberos. Everything works until I try to access a Samba share from the Windows 2000 Server. I have joined the Samba server to the AD domain using the instructions in the ADS-howto, and it works. Here is my smb.conf ----- realm = SLOWE.COM ads server = 10.109.10.133 security = ADS

Hello everyone. I am running Samba on a Debian system, and I'm currently getting the following error on the logs: [2011/09/19 15:06:36.708281, 1] smbd/sesssetup.c:454(reply_spnego_kerberos) Username GALILEU-F\bmartins is invalid on this system Being GALILEU-F my Windows domain and bmartins my username. Issue with Samba 3.0.28a and Active Directory
Hi all, 1. We are using Linux kernel 2.6.20.11 64-bit and Samba 3.0.28a 2. We are trying to connect from this linux machine to a Windows ADS running on a separate Windows 2003 system (WINADS machine). 3. Though we are able to retrieve the name of the WINADS machine from linux (We see the name of the machine in samba log file), we are unable to access any of the users in the WINADS

Samba working in Active Directory .config's included
I'm struggling just as much as the next person on this setup. Although; I do have it working under Mandrake 9.2 with Samba3.0.pre1. Perhaps we can work together and figure out what is different between setups. smb.conf: > #======================= Global Settings ===================================== > [global] > > # 1. samba + kerberos + active directory with multiple domains
I've almost got this thing working. I have it set up on a centos machine to authenticate logins and automounts to windows file servers. But it won't allow me to specify a domain as part of the userid. I can set a default domain in smb.conf and logging into that domain works like a champ. And I can list the other domains with "wbinfo --online-status" (not sure what

Wireless Production Servers Authentication of Active Directory with Inconsistent NTLM Auth Failures
Hi I work for a medium sized University and have recently set up some new infrastructure to authenticate our wireless users of Active Directory. Every thing was working as expected or so I thought. I set up a monitoring script that performs an ntlm_auth every minute and it shows that the authentication is failing inconsistently but for around 5 minutes at a time (see below). There are two

Problmes joining Samba server to Active Directory
Hi. I've now been told the name of our Kerberos server for the Active Directory that I'm trying to join my Samba 3.0 alpha 21 to. As described on http://techupdate.zdnet.co.uk/story/0,,t481-s2122363-p2,00.html, I configured /etc/krb5.conf like this: [root@ugkbase samba]# cat /etc/krb5.conf [logging] default = FILE:/var/log/krb5libs.log kdc = FILE:/var/log/krb5kdc.log admin_server =

[SOLVED] RE: Samba and AD integration
Problem solved. As long as I know it is related to the fact that I was using the same range of ID's (both GID and UID) in my smb.conf. Change these values to different ranges and I am now being able to authenticate well. Windows 2003 Active Directory - Cannot access Samba shares
Hello, I've spent the last couple of days following the HOW-TO's on how to make a Linux server running Samba part of a Windows 2003 Active Directory, and a lot of supplemental research from these groups and elsewhere, but now I'm totally stuck and I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. Basically, most of the configuration seems to be working: - The Linux box is showing up in

winbind - New DOMAIN but old DOMAIN not CHANGING .URGENT
Hi, We just imported (moved) all our staff from the old w2k domain to the new w2k3 domain. Say their accounts and passwords From STAFF domain to say NEW. Seems winbind is keeping the old domain users. I'm using winbind for squid auth on Mandrake linux 10.0 samba-client-3.0.10-0.1.100mdk samba-winbind-3.0.10-0.1.100mdk samba-doc-3.0.10-0.1.100mdk samba-common-3.0.10-0.1.100mdk

Active Directory authentication no longer works
Hello all, I have 3 Linux boxes all authenticating against 2 Windows 2003 domain controllers. Each Linux box is running a different Linux and samba version: Box1: CentOS 3.4 3.0.25-7 Box2: CentOS 4.4 3.0.10-1 Box3: CentOS 5 3.0.23c-2 Their smb.conf and krb5.conf files are all identical (below). A few days ago authentication stopped working and my /var/log/messages fills up with

Problem authenticating against Active Directory (samba 3.0.9 / fedora core 3)
I've spent all day on this, and I can't, for the life of me, get Samba 3.0.9 (updated RPM for Fedora Core 3) to authenticate properly against Active Directory. (I've edited out the actual domain name, username, etc) I've synced up time (to within a half-second) with the domain controller. Kerberos works: [root@printshop samba]# kinit username@AD.DOMAIN.COM Password for

Client accessing Samba doesn't authenticate against Active Directory
When a Windows client attempts to browse shares on a Samba 3.0 server authenticating against a Windows 2003 Active Directory domain, it requests credentials. Typing in user name and password fails. Basically, I can't see even see the shares. If I give username/password for a user in smbpasswd, then I can browse the Samba server. Configuration info: ADS server: LICENSE ADS server IP:

Hi, We just imported (moved) all our staff from the old w2k domain to the new w2k3 domain. Say their accounts and passwords From STAFF domain to say NEW. Seems winbind is keeping the old domain users. This server was serving the STAFF domain w/o problems before users were migrated. Domain is in 2000 native mode. How to - Samba, winbind and Active Directory
Hi, I finally was able to to get samba/winbind to authenticate off W2k3 Active Directory. I seen a lot of info on the web on how to do this but I never seem to have one site that got me through it all. Anyway, with all the info I gathered I was able to put it all together, get it working and documented all the steps I used. I'm running Redhat 4 (2.6.9-55.0.2) with compiled Samba 3.0.25c
