Problem with samba 3.0.25b-33
Hi,
our window file server running 3.0.25b-33 (X64) (Sernet rpm)
on SLES 9 SP3 has been stoped working.
The log file shows nothing new. No error ...
Only the clients can not connect to the server. After a restart
of smbd it seems to work for a while.
Any idea ?
Any help is welcome !!

[LLVMdev] Calling functions
Hello!
I'm trying LLVM for generating code and I found something I cannot figure out or find in the documentation:
I'm doing something like this to call "sin" from std:
std::vector<const Type*> params;
params.push_back( Type::FloatTy );
FunctionType *FT = FunctionType::get( Type::FloatTy, params, false);
Function *F = new Function( FT, Function::ExternalLinkage,

can not access samba drive on Redhat ES 4
Hi,
Our samba server is running Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 4) with samba version: samba-3.0.33-0.17.el4. We like to authenticate all the users with our Primary Domain Controller wnidows 2008. Some users keep getting asked to enter username and password. Even with the correct password, still can't access the drive. The strange thing is that some users are

samba, PAM and active directory
Hi,
I want that users can log on (SSH and console) a
Debian box can do it through Active Directory. I still
want that root user can log on (SSH and console) so I
created a wheel group for that.
I can log on successfully with all AD and root
users. However, I'd like to limit the AD users to the
technology domain group.
I've googled a lot:

Problem Accessing Samba Server from Windows
Hi,
I'm having a problem accessing my samba server from Windows. The problem
occurs every time I try to browse to it on either XP or 2003 Server. The
error message I get is: "\\Zeus is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of
this server to find out if you have access permissions. The account is

I'm doing some testing with Win7 RC1 and I'm having an identical problem

cannot authenticate. Both servers are authenticating with Winbind to an

does not use Winbind which has no problems.
This pops up in smbd.log: (.200 is wireless and .184 is my

Samba write errors, broken pipes and client lockups
Over the last few weeks I've had problems using Samba on a FreeBSD.
Windows XP clients (that's all I have) would experience intermittent
long delays (lockups, freezing) when accessing the samba shares using
Windows Explorer or any other applications. This occurred both directly
when browsing the network neighborhood, and when accessing the share
through a letter drive mapping.

Samba over bridged ethernet VPN
Hi all,
I have Samba 3.0.32 on FreeBSD-7-RELEASE, set up to act as a very simple
workgroup file server (i.e., no domain or anything fancy like that). It
is the latest version of Samba available in ports.
I am seeing timeouts and connection reset errors in my per-client logs such
as the following. For clients on the local LAN, the errors don't cause any
real problems. However, for remote

diagnosing broken pipe errors
I'm hoping to get some guidance diagnosing intermittent smbd
errors that have been cropping up in the last 2 months. They
are sporadic, difficult to reproduce, and don't reveal much of
a pattern so far except that the majority are generated by a
couple of clients, although several clients appear to be
affected. Typical symptom on the client is a hang when
attempting to look at the share

Lots of "write_data: write failure in writing to client" and "Error writing 4 bytes to client. -1"
Last week we installed Samba 3.0.20b on one of our servers, worked fine and
does it's job well. But today the load was rising due two smbd processes
taking up all cputime. While looking for hints on what was going on the
logfiles show two types of errors (I don't know at this time if it has
anything to do with the load spike):
lib/util_sock.c:write_data(554)
write_data: write failure in
