samba/ldap setup stopped working (might be a challenge)
Hi, two days ago my functioning samba/ldap server stopped working. I *think* the problem is somehow related to the fact i transfered everything to a new server, but that was two months ago. Trouble started yesterday morning after a power-outage. Configuration: ubuntu 8.04, with a standard samba, ldap and smbldap-tools installed via apt-get. When users tried to login, they got a message "a

Machine Login
Hi all, In my system, samba (3.0.34) is configured as PDC with an LDAP backend and has some user and machine accounts, and it all works fine. But recently I've found out that if I remove one machine account from the LDAP server user logins into the domain from that machine are still possible, even if the machine login verification fails: "... But if I attempt to join a windows system to the domain I get "The following error occured while attempting to join to domain "DOMAINNAME": The user name could not be found". The machine name is getting loaded into ldap.
