Workstaion trust account
Hi everybody! I'm having a problem adding a W2K workstaion to the domain samba+ldap. I can add it by logging with the local administartor then add to domain, but I would like to do it without doing it manually on every workstation. Have hundrads of workstations, I tried to add them by using smbldap scripts and I get an entry for the workstation but it still don't work. Is it even possible

Problems joining existing domain W2K SP4 and Samba 2.2.8a
Hi all, I seem to be having some weird problems while trying to add a workstation to an existing domain. Samba 2.2.8a is running on FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE-p17 and all the clients have Windows 2000 Professional with SP4 installed. This particular workstaion was part of the domain until its hard drive went under. The drive had to be replaced with a new one, the OS was installed and now when I try to

Help wanted...
Long story short, I have a small LAN, a Red Hat 8.0 fileserver, a Win95 fileserver and 2 workstations, one Win98SE and the other is Red Hat 8.0. Using Samba as the common file system thread, I can access and play an MP3 file from the Win95 server using the RH workstation and it works fine. I can access and play an MP3 from Linux or Win95 server using the Windows workstation and that works

(OT) OpenOffice.org calc chart strangeness.
I am attempting to create a simple line chart graphing three columns from a soffice-calc spreadsheet. I expect it to take the leftmost column as the X-Axis, plotting the others on the Y-Axis, but it always creates an X-Axis of the row number in the columns, and the first column amongst the data. I have tried this on OpenOffice.org 3.2.0, NeoOffice(R) 3.0.2 Patch 2, iWork Pages, and Excel 12.2.4

Memory leak in PerFieldAnalyzer
Hello everyone, we''ve recently discovered a memory leak in the PerFieldAnalyzer. If you use the PerFieldAnalyzer (which you acutally should), you should switch to a pure ruby version of that analyzer. The C version of the Analyzer is consuming memory on every analyzing request. You can find an example script to verify the leak[1]. Furthermore we''ve added a workaround, building

rspec_on_rails magical incantations
I ran into something really puzzling today. I don''t know exactly why it''s happening, but I thought I''d share my experiences. I started a dummy app just to test an idea outside of the context of my real work today. So, I quickly get things started: * rails junk * cd junk * ruby script/plugin install svn://rubyforge.org/var/svn/rspec/tags/ CURRENT/rspec * ruby

Quota monitoring
Hello, I would like to monitor users quotas in Dovecot but I don't find a way to do it for every user. Acutally I can log in with user & password to get the users quota but wat I need is a way to monitor the quota of every user with e.g an admin user which would have an acces to the quota of each mailbox. Is there a way to this? Thanks for your help.

Re: Linux only Network: Samba ?? or Nis and NFs??
Hi, I'm trying to build an only Linux (RedHat 8.0) network. I've tried NIS(for centralised passwords) and NFS, seems to work OK. Sometimes my clients stop responding. I may be doing something wrong. I've just been told that all of this can be done with Samba. CEntralised User naes and passwords and homes. So that any user can logon from any linux workstation be validated by a server

PC loosing domain membership frequently
Hi, I'm new to this list. I tried to google and did a _bit_ of searching in teh archive but didn't find anything related to my problem. I use samba 2.2.8a as the PDC on SuSE-linux 8.0. I administrate 7 Rooms with 160 PC, mainly w2k-sp3 and some older with NT4-sp6. In two of seven rooms some PC loose their Domain-membership. SAMBA + LDAP: can login to domain
Hello, I've tried to integrate samba 3.0.1 and LDAP 2.1.23 using the guide provided from http://www.hilinski.net/samba/. While the ldap+samba user authentication seems to work fine, I can't join the Domain from a Windows 2000 Client. The Domain is found and Name/Password Credentials are asked. I enter root and password and I get an error: Login Failure: Unknow username or bad

XP spontaneous reboot after folder rename on samba share.
I just want to get this information into the mailing list archives. In my situation I had Windows XP SP2 workstations mapped to a samba share on a debian etch stable server. My corporate overloards changed our AV product to Norton. After that, when users would rename a file or a folder on the samba share the workstaion would suddenly reboot (and not execute the rename). The samba server was a

using windbind to connect to AD
Hello, After a couple of years using Samba as a DC I figured I would start working it the other way around. I'm using CentOS, the latest and tried to use the GUI manager. I am sort of confused as there are acutally 2 windows. I filled out both and supplied the name of the AD administrator. Do I just put the AD domain in there with .realm after it? (eg testdomain.com.realm)? I tried with

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Thanks a lot you two, yes hugetlbfs is not mounted, when libvirtd is started… It was a long night. Did put it to fstab and since I do not allocate them on regular boots, it won’t eat my ram (that was the main consideration for doing it like this). As a last means before going to sleep, I added <qemu:arg value='-numa'/>
