wbinfo -a not working
Hello, I'm trying to connect my Debian 4 samba box to my Windows 2003Server Active Directory. I successfully joined the domain, with net ads join. Wireshark captures a lot of packets going over the wire, and I get the message "joined the domain successfully". In my AD, under 'computers', the samba box appeared. So that all works. Strange Samba permissions
Hi, I am really stuggeling with Samba, searched forums and checked tutorials, so far with no success. So you are my last resort and probably the first place I should have checked, but I am completly new to mail groups, so please be patient with me. Users can log in to the Samba PDC domain successfully and get the login script executed just fine. But: 1.) If user A is creating a file then user

Access denied to shares samba 3
Hi, I have samba-3.0.23d-1tr on a trustix 3.0 system. This samba was joined to a win 2k3 domain and it works perfect for lot of months. Now I can access only to tmp share, and samba server is very slow to expose all shares. If I launch wbinfo -u or wbinfo -g, I still see the users/group from win2k3 server, but in the log of my winxp client (whose name is Euro15), I see: [2006/12/27 11:52:31, 2]

samba/ldap setup stopped working (might be a challenge)
Hi, two days ago my functioning samba/ldap server stopped working. I *think* the problem is somehow related to the fact i transfered everything to a new server, but that was two months ago. Trouble started yesterday morning after a power-outage. Configuration: ubuntu 8.04, with a standard samba, ldap and smbldap-tools installed via apt-get. When users tried to login, they got a message "a

Lots of "Failed to create" error messages after upgrading to 2.0.25c
Hello, I recently upgraded from Samba 3.0.22 to 3.0.25c on Solaris, and after doing so I noticed a sudden proliferation of new error messages in the Samba log, such as: [2007/08/27 15:36:03, 2] smbd/sesssetup.c:setup_new_vc_session(1200) setup_new_vc_session: New VC == 0, if NT4.x compatible we would close all old resources. confusion and problem with Samba v3.3.8 as PDC with ldapsam backend
Hello, I'm trying to use samba v3.3.8 on Centos 5.5 to act as a PDC, using ldap as the backend for users, groups, and computers. The ldap I'm using is Centos Directory Server v8.1. The setting is a new, never used before, installation of samba and ldap. There are no users other than what exists by default after a Centos install. The smb.conf contains what is my best guess for the

Fitting linear models
I am not sure if this is an R-users question, but since most of you here are statisticians, I decided to give it a shot. I am using the lm() function in R to fit a dependent variable to a set of 3 to 5 independent variables. For this, I used the following commands: >model1<-lm(function=PBW~SO4+NO3+NH4) Coefficients: (Intercept) SO4 NO3 NH4 0.01323 0.01968

yaxp problem for more irregular time series in one plot
Good day, I'm trying to get more time series in one plot. As there are bigger differences in values of variables I need logaritmic y axis. The code I use is the following: nvz_3_data <- read.csv('/home/tomas/R_outputs/nvz_3.csv') date <- (nvz_3_data$date) NO3 <- (nvz_3_data$NO3) NH4 <- (nvz_3_data$NH4) date_p <- as.POSIXct(date, "CET") par(mfrow=c(2,1), ylog

covariance analysis model
Dear list users, I have trouble with covariance analysis. I measured nitrate concentrations in the soil (NO3) and the percentage of legumes (LEG, continuous), affected by 2 different CO2 concentrations (CO2, discrete). I suspect that CO2 has an effect on LEG and NO3, but also that LEG has an effect on NO3, so this is the formula I wrote to test this: NO3 ~ CO2 + LEG + CO2:LEG Will LEG be

Samba and Win98
I have a friend that had a samba server go down. They switched to another server and are having problems with people logging into it from Windows 98. If the same user logs in from WinXp then everything works otherwise they get an error. He also said that the smb.conf files were the same on both servers. >From the errors it almost looks like some sort of permission problem, but since it logs
