Fw: printer admin option replacement on stand alone (not domain) print server running version 3.0.25
Thanks to those who responded to my original question. I ran this command and it accepted it after I provided the root password. # net rpc rights grant 'vlkidder' SePrintOperatorPrivilege Checked to see if 'vlkidder' had printer admin privilege and it seems ok. # net rpc rights list accounts Password: BUILTIN\Print Operators No privileges assigned SMBTEST\vlkidder

Printing Errors in log since installing 3.0.9
Since installing Samba 3.0.9, I am getting the following errors in my samba log file related to printing. I haven't made any changes to the smb.conf file from 3.0.7 where printing worked fine. This is a sample of the errors from the samba log file. [2004/12/06 15:45:55, 0] printing/printing_db.c:get_print_db_byname(109) get_print_db: Failed to open printer backend database

printer admin option replacement on stand alone (not domain) print server running version 3.0.25
I'm trying to upload print drivers to a stand-alone samba server running version 3.0.25. The server is part of a workgroup (not domain). My log files show messages that it cannot update the driver. Before I had the printer admin option set in my smb.conf file to allow a non-root user to do the printer admin and everything worked fine. I have read the Samba How To Notes section on important

print spooling message never goes away
I have a Samba server that reports some print jobs "spooling" to the workstations on the network when clients browse it. There are no jobs spooling or printing and it never goes away unless I restart the Samba process. It does come back though and do the same thing. This happens on a few of the 50 queues it's serving. Any ideas? Thanks Greg Samba 3.0.4 Fedora Core 1

mutual information for two time series
Hi I hope this is going to the right place. I am trying to write a program which uses KernSmooth library to estimate mutual information between two time series at various different lags. At the moment it’s producing negative values, which is supposed to be impossible (something is fishy). I am summing across one row of the matrix to get p(value is in bin x) and summing across the columns to get

"file changed as we read it" message during tar file creation on GlusterFS
I think it is safe to ignore it. The problem exists? due to the minor difference in file time stamps in the backend bricks of the same sub volume (for a given file) and during the course of tar, the timestamp can be served from different bricks causing it to complain . The ctime xlator[1] feature once ready should fix this issue by storing time stamps as xattrs on the bricks. i.e. all bricks

"file changed as we read it" message during tar file creation on GlusterFS
Hi Ravi, thank you very much for your support and explanation. If I understand, the ctime xlator feature is not present in the current gluster package but it will be in the future release, right? Files not appearing on Samba mount.
We have a share on a Windows 2000 Server that is mounted onto a RedHat box using the following entry in fstab: //server/filesystem /opt/bumvfs smbfs username=username,password=password,debug=4,dmask=777,fmask=777,sockopt= SO_KEEPALIVE 0 0 On this we create a directory structure such as: \dodgy_test\wxy2\VFStp\VFSnetwork_entities\VFSCommonReports\VFSGM_H\VFSR

new function: twotailed.colors {base}
I suggest to add a new function to create a vector of n ``contiguous'' colors with tails in two colors. This function is similar to `cm.colors' but the colors can be choosen by hsv values. This function could be used e.g. as alternative to the default ``col.regions'' in `levelplot'. Perhaps the arguments in the following code could be simplified. Wolfram Fischer #---

Problems with Windows on KVM machine
Hello. We've started a virtualisation project and got stuck in one moment. Currently we are using the following: Intel 2312WPQJR as a node Intel R2312GL4GS as a storage with Intel Infiniband 2 ports controller Infiniband Mellanox SwitchX IS5023 for commutation. The nodes run CentOS 6.5 with built-in Infiniband package (Linux v0002 2.6.32-431.el6.x86_64), the storage - CentOS 6.4 also built-in

Hi Mauro, We would require complete log file to debug this issue. df command shows transport endpoint mount error on gluster client v.3.10.5 + core dump
Hi, Following are the command to get the debug info for gluster - gdb /usr/local/sbin/glusterfs <core file path> Then on gdb prompt you need to type bt or backtrace (gdb) bt You can also provide the output of "thread apply all bt". (gdb) thread apply all bt Above commands should be executed on client node on which you have mounted the gluster volume and it crashed.

Hi Ashish, thank you for your answer. Do you need complete client log file only or something else in particular? Unfortunately, I never used ?bt? command. Could you please provide me an usage example string? I will provide all logs you need.
