'logon drive' questions
Hello list, I sent this about two weeks ago, but I didn't get an
answer... so I'm pushing my luck. :-)
QUESTION#1: What EXACLTLY causes the HOMEDRIVE, HOMEPATH, and
HOMESHARE variables? Something passed from Samab to the client, or
some thing the client does?
QUESTION#2: How/what/where/why is there a difference in the results
of click on "Command Prompt"?

Login to windows with samba running as domain master doesn't set HOMEPATH environment variable
I'm running samba as a domain master,
Have implemented roaming profiles (correctly I hope). However, have
discovered that if I use the client Windows 2K machine on the domain
"Local machine" the environment variable %HOMEPATH% is set correctly to
\Documents and Settings\myname however if I then login to my domain
implemented by samba %HOMEPATH% is simply not defined. HOMEDRIVE and

getting R 1.8 or 1.9 to work!?
I've had a interesting day with R; can anyone offer any advice?
First with R 1.8.1. on XP Pro:
"R for Windows GUI front-end has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I then tried installing 1.9.0. and got the "information" dialogue:
"Fatal error: INVALID HOMEDRIVE"
instead of a functioning R!
I attempted to set

Fatal Error: Invalid HOMEDRIVE
All,
I've encountered the same problem as others who have posted under the same
subject.
I've had R-1.8.1 installed and running since it was released. Yesterday
morning when I tried to start Rgui.exe I got the subject error message.
Since I live at the whim of the network administrators I can only assume it
was a recent MS critical update.
I tried installing R-1.9.0 but no joy.

Installing/updating packages on a lab network
I'm the faculty member in my department who advises our IT staff on the
details of installing R for
students and faculty on our Windows 7 lab network. We are about to
upgrade from R 3.1.1 to
R 3.2.1, and once that is done, this version of R and all installed
packages will be frozen in the
image that appears in C:/Program Files/R/R-3.2.1/ on every lab computer,
and this image is

Just add the line
R_LIBS_SITE=F:/R/library
to the file R_HOME/etc/x64/Renviron.site

R CMD Rd2dvi (PR#13200)
Hello,
I can build packages with R-2.8.0 but I cannot run the code:
R CMD Rd2dvi --pdf --no-clean <pkg_name>
=20
Error message:
.: Can't open C:/Apps/R/R280/share/sh/dcf.sh: No such file or directory
The system cannot find the path specified.

The above code works fine in R-2.7.2.

Comparing the bash script Rd2dvi.sh between R-2.7.2 and R-2.8.0 makes me
think that the script is

Hi to all.
firs of all sorry if you already have read my last two posts.
Erroneously i have posted both as answers to others threads instead of
oppening a new one (btw i have clicked on the mailing list address to create
a new mail, but the mail client has used the same thread identifier)
Now here is the real content of this post.

Rgui, Startup, HOME, R_USER, ...
Hi,
Main objective: Let Rgui find my ~/.Rprofile and ~/.Renviron files,
where ~ is equal to getwd("~").
I have few comments/questions:
(A) On my WinXP Pro installation, the system environment variable
'HOME' is not availble to R, e.g. Sys.getenv("HOME") is empty. I
believe this is default case (correct me if I'm wrong). However, if I
set the "Start

setwd in windows
Dear friends - windows R 3.3.3 - sorry to ask a simple question - but I
cannot make setwd work properly in scripts
In the example below I have made a directory in C (firstdir) and a
directory in that (secdir) and the intention is to change directory to
the second from the first - it works when I put the entire path but not
the tilde - what am I missing? I was around rwf 2.14 as per the help

Then, I rebooted. Next, I clicked the icon under Programs in the Start

clicked OK to the error message. The program does not start. I went to
a DOS prompt and did "echo %HOMEDRIVE%" and it returned "C:". This

Samba 3.0.0.-2 logon script not running!
Help
..
I've struggled with this for a few weeks and can't get anywhere. I'd like for someone to point me in the right
direction, if possible.
I have laid out below my complete samba setting in the hope that
1) Someone can find a solution to my current problem
2) It might help someone else, as I overcame a few problems with these settings myself, under samba 2.2.8a.. please note
