Poor network performance on Dom0 [2.6.18-6-xen-amd64]
I am experiencing poor network performance on Dom0. When i ping other
hosts on the same LAN, packets are out of order, and they show
response times ranging from < 1 ms to several seconds, and some
packets get lost.
For example, a typical ping result looks like this:
87 packets transmitted, 80 received, +3 errors, 8% packet loss, time 86038ms

Realtek 8111GR on C7
Hi list,
I'm planning to buy a mobo (z170-K) that has Realtek 8111GR (nic).
I've tried to search on google about support on C7 but can't fine anything.
There is a way to check if supported?
Is the Realtek 8111GR supported or I must change mobo?
Thanks in advance.

Samba running slow
Hello everyone:
Over the past few years I have been a happy samba user, running samba on
Redhat / FC platforms. Recently I upgraded hardware, and Samba hasn't been
performing well at all.. which makes me sad :-(
The new hardware is Asus P5B board with a dual-core intel processor. This
board has an onboard Realtek RTL8111/8168B gigabit ethernet controller,
which was a hassle to setup.

Eth1 problem on CentOS-6.3
I am trying to transport a dd image between to hosts over a cross
linked gigabit connection. Both hosts have an eth1 configured to a
non routable ip addr on a shared network. No other devices exist on
this link.
When transferring via sftp I received a stall warning. Checking the
logs I see this:
dmesg | grep eth

XCP 1.0 beta Realtek 8168 nic not working
I''m trying to build out a test cloud using XCP 1.0.0 beta with 3 machines of

Hello list
I have a shutdown problem. I have a machine with gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R
motherboard. Integrated network card is Realtek 8111B.
I can not wake the computer after I shutdown it from FreeBSD.
It is a dualboot system - windows xp and freebsd. If I shutdown the
computer from windows - later I can wake it up with magic packet. Even
if i shutdown the machine on the boot menu with the power

Realtek 8111GR on C7
Realtek is "real" good about getting drivers for their chips into the
kernels as soon as possible. They are one of the few vendors that I have
never had a problem with built in support...

RealTek 8168B (Rev 02) Issue
The 8168B (02) NIC works well except that it does not go into promiscuous
mode despite advertising itself in that mode after being so directed with
ifconfig. Unfortunately, the little box is destined to be an IDS monitor, so that
function is essential. The board is an Intel Atom 330 run as x86_64, the nic
is
internal.
We tried three drivers: the one in the 2.6.18-128.1.10.el5 kernel yields

Jumbo frames problem with Realtek NICs?
I was trying to do some performance testing between using iSCSI on the
host as a diskfile to a guest vs the VM guest using the iSCSI device
directly.
However, in the process of trying to establish a baseline performance
figure, I started increasing the MTU settings on the PCI-express NICs
with RTL8168B chips.
First bottleneck was discovering the max MTU allowed on these is 7K
instead of 9K but

RTL8111 Wiki Pages
Howdy,
It appears that CentOS 5.2's support for the RTL8111B/C chip is incomplete.
The wiki has some blanket statements regarding this support:

eth0 killed when adding virtual interface and multiple NICs are present
I have a strange problem on one machine where eth0 gets killed when I add
a virtual interface. It's got something to do with the NIC ordering or
with the xen network script having a problem with multiple NICs and
virtual interfaces. I could need some help/comments on this.
Some history:

Problem with driver disk on amd64
Hi,
I have a really strange problem with a driver disk
(http://wiki.centos.org/HardwareList/RealTekRTL8111b) on amd64.
I'm remotly booting the system via isolinux-files, so I unfortunatly
do not have access to relevant logs, all I can see the the primary
console/screen.
With i386, the driver disk works just fine and I can install via http.
But with amd64, the installer complains no driver

[XCP] No network after upgrade from 0.5 to 1.0
Hi guys,
I upgraded my home server to check out XCP 1.0 but i have a big problem.
After the upgrade my network just died.
I see the card, it''s listed as xenbr0 but there is no network
acces/connection going over it. A ping to or from the server results in
nothing.
When i check out the configure managment interface settings i see the NIC,
and it states connected. But there is no way to

AW: Workaround for pcifront issues
Thanks Anna, this was also quite interesting for me.
Did you mean that I just have to eliminate the else branch or raise arround "All devices
behind the uppermost PCI/PCI-X bridge must be co-assigned to the same guest." or do I have
to eliminate more in order to prevent an FLR (whatever that is).
For my board it''s definitely necessary to move PCI devices in different guests,

Making a data connection with Asterisk
Hi all,
We need to start obtaining some billing files from BT via a dial-up ISDN connection and I'm wondering if Asterisk is capable of doing this?
I need to make an ISDN dial-up CHAP connection and, once connected, grab some files over FTP. Currently, our Asterisk box is connected to an ISDN30 with a Zaptel card.
This may be a downright stupid question but I'm trying to find out if

r8169-driver CentOS5.2
Hi all,
Another FYI-mail (and just to verify that I'm not going insane here);
I recently purchased an ASUS M3A78-EMH HDMI -board with a tri-core
Phenom. This is a small uATX-board with all the garnish integrated
motherboards are supposed to come with, and fairly well supported in
CentOS 5 and other modern distros. When I installed it (~2 months ago)
the NIC was not supported;
