Standalone Server with Wins -- Password Not Required onWin/XP
I tried adding "guest ok = no" in the [homes] section below and got the same
results.
On first access from a WinXP Client, the system requests a userid and
password. If you provide a userid and password, the system will Not allow
you to view the shares. The only way (that I've found) to get passed this
is to provide the userid Only -- this allows access to a window that

system. The shares defined below are available to the windows xp clients on
the 10.43.10.x/24 subnet. Samba also provides win server support to this

Hello,
I have just performed a yum update on my Fedora 5 machine, which I think included a samba update, and I cannot connect from WinXP to the shares defined on Fedora. When I select the samba server from WIndowsXP, a dialog box prompts for the userid and password. When userid and password are entered the dialog box just redisplays and I am not logged on, no matter how many time I try.

Password Chat Fails To Update Unix Password - Case sensitivity problem
I am stumped with several issues regarding password chat and changing a
domain password on a Win98 machine.
When I use the Password program under Windows control panel, it tells me I
have an incorrect password. When I turn on tracing within Samba, I notice
that Win98 is not sending a userid with this dialogue. Samba then assumes
it's a guest account. Guess account is set to nobody in my

Proxy with MasterUser + Authentication issues
Per Timo's direction, I decided to give the MasterUser a try in connecting
my proxy to my destination server.
This might allow for the use of 'secure password' for my clients that like
to check that box by default.
A couple of problems I'm running into running RC15:

Win98 Password Stumbling Block (Resolution)
For those of you that have had/are having problems getting Win 98 clients to

I was hoping that someone has seen a similar problem to the one I am facing.
I have a samba 3 server connected to an windows domain. All connections appear correct most of the users can connect via windows xp with no issue. However there are a unlucky few whose work stations cannot connect. All xp work stations are the same (at least as well as a large company can get). The user in question

Fw: Win XP, Samba PDC, Profile Question
Hi,
PLease, please help.
I am running Rh 6.2, Samba 2.2.4 as a PDC and I have been upgrding my clients to XP over the last week (company holidays! - except for me!).
I can join to the Domain using Registry Edit (Sign or Seal) and I am not using roaming profiles to start with so I have blanked out the logon path and logon home in my smb.conf.
My problem is relating to the user profiles. When
