SAMBA Interdomain Trust relationships
I have two SAMBA PDC's with an OpenLDAP backend. My goal is to establish an interdomain trust between the two domains so that users from each backend can login to Windows systems by specifying accounts from either domain.
I've followed the steps to establish the trusts and I can see accounts and groups using wbinfo and getent.
I can access resources/shares from each domain but I'm

Trust Relationships using Samba
Like many, I administer multiple LANs connected together using NT trust
relationships. This was implemented about 4 years ago. I now have the
occasion to consider performing this same task again, but this time, I would
like to implement it solely through samba - no Microsoft PDCs anywhere.
I have read documentation on samba.org regarding NT-style trust
relationships and am now wondering, can I

Doubt about Trust Relationships
I have a question about trust relationships.
I searched the wiki and other links, but did not find a specific page with
the Features of Samba4. So I ask here on the list.
I created a setting for studies with 2 servers, each with a different
domain, both are talking, however I can not establish a trust relationship
between them, whenever I run the wizard, is reported an error message
saying that

Samba 3 Trust Relationship with Win2008 AD problem
I am trying to establish 2 way trust relationship between samba domain and
Win2008 AD domain. The trust relationship is established and even verified
by both side, but when I try to access samba resources from win2008 domain,
it prompts for username and password. However, I can access the win2008
resources from the samba domain without the prompting of username and
password.
My win2008 is

secrets.tdb and Samba 3.0.28 -> 3.3.4 migration
Hi all,
When moving between Samba 3.0.X revisions, I have been able to copy the
secrets.tdb file and the trust relationships with foreign domains remain
established. However, this does not appear to work when moving directly
from 3.0.X to the 3.3.X branch. Is there a tool available that allows
us to migrate - or can tdbdump (or similar) be used to dump out data
from the 3.0.X format and then be

Samba PDC & Groups & Trust relationships & LDAP
Hi.
It's been a while since i got into samba again seriously(about 3
years), about a week ago I decided to dive into it again, I have
Samba 2.2.3a up and going with an LDAP backend, communicating
with the LDAP server over TLS. I established a one way trust
relationship with the local NT4-based domain. It works fine, I
can access network resources and stuff.(I intend to replace
the NT4-based

Samba3 Trust Relationships?
Hey all,
After setting up a migration server (a server which
will act as a test for a Samba 3.x environment), so
we can make sure our migration from Samba 2.2.x
to 3.x goes as smoothly as possible, I've hit upon
a problem, now I am not sure whether this is the
fault of Samba (my configuration) or NT4 or
whether this is infact designed behaviour for
both/either servers. I'd like to

How do I set up trust relationships in SAMBA
Be nice -- I'm a SAMBA newbie, but at least I've got the O'Reilly book!!
We want to use a SAMBA server to provide user accounts for a print
charge-back system in our public student labs. Since this amounts to
several thousand accounts which are already managed and current on our
e-mail server, we don't want to try to replicate them and keep them
synchronized on the NT PDC. For a

Very odd issue with Win7 and trust relationships
Hello all,
We have just concluded a very drawn out test of our domain that
is having some trust relationship problems with Windows 7 desktops. Here
is a breakdown of our setup:

archives3 BDC running samba 3.4.7 (also has OpenLDAP) on VLAN2
arrowhead BDC "home server" running samba 3.4.3 on VLAN 9

Inter-domain trust relationship AND logon script/ntconfig.pol
Hi there,
I'm using an inter-domain trust relationship (DOM-B trusted, DOM-A
trusting, COMP-A=DOM-A computer member).
It works as expected (ish), DOM-B users can logon onto DOM-A
computers.
I'd like to know if it is possible to force login scripts and
ntconfig.pol to be read from the DOM-A pdc server, rather than from
the DOM-B one ?
My setup includes a samba trusted domain and several

changing DOMAIN name on samba PDC
For historic reasons we have a DOMAIN name of 'WORKGROUP' on our one
server only samba PDC. Now that we have upgradced to 3.0.25
We would like to change this to something more sensible, but are
concerned what the consequences will be for the Win XP Pro workstations
that are currently joined to this domain.
which of the following scenarios will we likely face after the change?

Samba 2.2.x and Trust Relationships?
Hi,
Is it true that Samba 2.2.x PDC does not support trust relationships
to other Windoze NT PDCs?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Multiple domain and trust relationship
Multi-sites AD does not mean multi-domain AD. You do not must build trust
relationship.
Building an AD for a company is not trivial. It's a structural piece of IT
which must be thought. Needing RTFM and understanding why you would go into
some direction or another.
Trust relationships can be what you need, but not necessarily. It depends
on what you need.

[Samba4] 4.3.0 trust relationship
My bad.
Trust relationship is created and can be check using winbind:
wbinfo -u -> get local users list
wbinfo -u --domain=trusted.domain.tld -> get trusted domain users list
(short domain can be used too)
It can also be validated using --local-dc-username and --local-dc-password
switches:
samba-tool domain trust validate trusted.domain.tld \
--local-dc-password=trustedAdminPass \

[Samba4] 4.3.0 trust relationship
Hi all,
I was testing the 4.3.0 version to see what is available with trust
relationship but except having my DCs telling me there are trust
relationship and using the global catalog to perform search (but with only
search for object in a.domain.tld when search is performed against
dc.a.domain.tld) I can do nothing else.
My own knowledge on that subject is quiet null so I come to you asking some
