Fwd: Unable to change passwords from Win XP Pro clients
I think the "client ip signing options" don't matter on the domain controller, since the domain controller is not functioning as a server. (If this was a samba member server, then it would matter.) Inconsistent behavior for the C AP's R_ParseVector() ?
Dear Laurent, could you please provide a complete reproducible example where parsing results in a crash of R? Calling parse(text="list(''=123") from R works fine for me (gives Error: attempt to use zero-length variable name). I don't think the problem you observed could be related to the memory leak. The leak is on the heap, not stack. Zero-length names of elements in a

Fwd: Unable to change passwords from Win XP Pro clients
Just a follow-up. Still, no resolution. I've tried different combinations with "client ipc signing" without luck. A traffic dump shows the problem as: i) windows XP client sends a DCE/RPC SAMR command GetDomPwInfo ii) samba DC responds with DCE/RPC Fault nca_proto_error I've also tried fiddling with Local Security Policy registry values at the Win XP machine, but got nothing

XP Pro and windows 98 clients on single samba 2.2 domain
hi, been running samba 2.2.3 (debian stable) and using it with windows 98 clients no problem. domain logins, logon.bat and config.pol stuff all working. the customer now wants to add XP Pro PC's to the domain. now, after following the instructions in 'Using Samba' I have set up an XP PC to log on to a test server. once the PC has been added to the domain the users can log in no

Problem with XP Pro clients that are inactive for some time
Hi, My config: samba 2.2.11 on linux 2.4.26, nss_ldap 215, glibc 2.2.3. Clients: XP Pro SP1. It's a domain style setup with a Ldap server over ssl. The server is Sun DS 5.2. Users complain that sometimes (and not on all computers) they are unable to log in after some time (several hours) has passed since they were last accessed. They have to reboot them and the problem disappears. I

Unable to add Windows 2K/XP Pro clients to Samba domain
I have Samba 3.0.2 working with OpenLDAP (ldapsam) as backend except I can only use Samba as a workgroup not as a domain. Because of the added security of domain membership, I would like to add all clients as members of the Samba domain. When I first add the Windows client, I receive a message returned stating The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "MYDOMAIN": The

samba inconsistent printing behavior
Hello all. I've set up a Samba server on a Sun E280 box running Solaris 8. The server is part of a domain. I am having some problems printing. I can setup the printers on the Windows NT workstations using the Add Printer wizard. However, when I try to print I get inconsistent results. After installing the printer the workstation has to be restarted (sometimes more than once) before anything

Sudden domain login problems from XP-pro sp2 clients, Please help!
I am running Samba 3.0.7 on Gentoo Linux. The server is configured for domain logins and roaming profiles, and there are about 40 Windows XP Pro SP2 clients that login to the domain. This has been setup and working perfectly since October, until this morning. Now, anytime a client tries to login, they get this error: "windows cannot connect to the domain, either because the domain

Inconsistent behavior of sQuote and dQuote

Inconsistent Parse Behavior
Under some specific conditions, `parse` seems to produce inconsistent and potentially incorrect results the first time it is run in a fresh clean R session.? Consider this code where we parse the same text twice in a row, and get one value in the parse data that is mismatched: ```Type 'demo()' for some demos, 'help()' for on-line help, or 'help.start()' for an HTML browser

Inconsistent behavior for the C AP's R_ParseVector() ?
I found the following code comment in `src/main/gram.c`: ``` /* Memory leak yyparse(), as generated by bison, allocates extra space for the parser stack using malloc(). Unfortunately this means that there is a memory leak in case of an R error (long-jump). In principle, we could define yyoverflow() to relocate the parser stacks for bison and allocate say on the R heap, but yyoverflow() is

Setting up a Samba PDC to server XP pro clients
I have been setting up Windows servers to serve windows clients for many years and am now looking at samba as an alternative. I am currently having a problem setting up samba as a PDC for windows XP clients. I can see the samba server through My Network Places. If I try to access it I can after putting in one of the usernames and passwords I have set up using smbpasswd. I have added a machine

Inconsistent behavior for the C AP's R_ParseVector() ?
Hi, The behavior of ``` SEXP R_ParseVector(SEXP, int, ParseStatus *, SEXP); ``` defined in `src/include/R_ext/Parse.h` appears to be inconsistent depending on the string to be parsed. Trying to parse a string such as `"list(''=1+"` sets the `ParseStatus` to incomplete parsing error but trying to parse `"list(''=123"` will result in R sending a message to the

Problem whit XP PRO client

An Nt4.0 client was upgraded to XP PRO, and Win does not connect to domain (before upgrade worded fine), windows registry was modificated as samba howto explains. This is my smb.conf file of samba v. 2.0.7. Thanks, thanks, thanks. Dr Jekyll [global] ############## workgroup = X security = user status = yes
