Weird login problem !!
Hello, I have discovered what seems to me an unlogic issue in Samba. I have a Samba logon server with login scripts based on machine names (%m.bat). This is what happens when I make a connection as a regular user. [2000/08/07 10:23:11, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(550) testpc (10.33.6.247) connect to service FSK as user m2000944 (uid=27419, gid=27419) (pid 18902) Identification,

Domain Admins
Hi, I'm trying to set up one of my users to be a domain admin. I have unix/ldap group called "domainadm" with "user1" a member of the group. When I run "net groupmap list" I get the following: Domain Admins (S-1-5-21-186220259-3826000728-3192352269-7033) -> domainadm But when I go to log in to the domain with "user1" on a winxp machine, the

I have a PDC called gomer.mdah.state.ms.us w/ samba 3.0.26a and IP address is 10.8.3.37. On test PC I right click on my computer, properties, computer name, change from workgroup WORKGROUP to domain ADAMSTEST. But I get the error: Note: This information

Missing features, RLY?!? & readme1st again
Missing features from memory from following this mailinglist: - Win7 join to AD still requires two registry changes. - SYSVOL is not replicated, use a cronjob with rsync. - Domain-Trust works only in one direction (which one?). - winbind does not work on DCs, use a separate file server. - Joining an AD requires one of its DCs in the same subnet? - Cluster filesystems destroy TDB files, use CTDB. -

[DEVEL] Virtual Methods
Nick, I had a few minutes so I implemented the WxPrinterDC class tonight, and I have a question on Virtual Methods. Is there a general rule of thumb to follow? Should they be implemented in the wxRuby header and source files, or should I ignore them? They are not listed on the WxWidgets documentation page, but they are in the wxWidgets source file, as being public virtual methods. Examples:

roaming profiles behavior
I have a PDC named gomer w/ IP 10.8.3.37 and a BDC named bldg1 w/ IP of 10.8.3.231, and a testpc w/ IP of 10.8.3.237. in the TCP/IP settings of testpc, I put the WINS server as 10.8.3.231, but when I log in, the roaming profile is stored onto gomer. Is this correct behavior? I then changed bldg1's logon path from logon path = \\%L\profiles\%U to logon path = \\bldg1\profiles\%U and

LDAP server, too many open files
I've setup an LDAP server with a slave server on Centos 5.3 X86_64, replication works, most of the time client logins work fine but I'm starting to get a error I can't seem to eliminate, it's starting to cause login failures for users and I think it's causing other application failures when they try to auth against ldap. on the client side /var/log/messages shows Oct

samba 4 ad member - idmap = ad for machine accounts
Drawbacks for RID, yes, multiple, but maybe it does not apply for you. Read the Advantages and Disadvantages https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Idmap_config_ad https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Idmap_config_rid My reason for NOT using RID on FILESERVER setups. Only one : File ownership of domain users and groups are lost, when the local ID mapping database corrupts. With Ad, i just remove and

domain login problem
Hi, I have a Red Hat AS3 PDC server running Samba 3.0.0. I have Linus workstations and Windows 2000 workstations. Some not all of my Windows 2000 workstations will not let any user login to the domain. Says username or password is incorrect. If you create a local user account on the workstation and login as that user you can get to all shares and there are no problems. I also have a problem with

File/directory renaming denied but write access is okay with Samba/LDAP PDC
Hello List, i recently re-setup our Samba/LDAP PDC. I have the following problem now: The shares "lehre" and "public" are writeable, but i cannot rename files/folders on it from Windows (getting an access denied message in Explorer) - however, my user can rename the files manually by logging into the PDC with his account, so permissions seem to be okay. These problems

Printing from wine problem - loosing my hair
I have a Ubuntu 9.04 minimalist setup runing on a XEN vps. I only installed a few things like Wine, NX, cups (and cups-pdf), XFCE4. Works like a charm in every way except printing from Wine. I can print from native Linux apps to PDF but I get an error in Notepad and any other wine running app for that matter, StartPage failed. There are no errors in the /var/log/error_log or any mention of the

Hai Christion, So yes, i told you this once before it better to setup the windows acl. And yes, but these days in win10 everything is more picky on correct settings. Set/verify you profile share again, but setup windows ACL's. not POSIX acls. See: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Roaming_Windows_User_Profiles Goto : Setup : Using Windows ACLs And dont look below this line on the
