Trouble Connecting to Server
Folks, I'm having trouble connecting to my Samba server. The immediate symptom is that I cannot see my Samba server in my Windows Network Neighborhood, and so I cannot connect to it to check my share connections. I'm running SUSE 9.3 on the server, which is running Samba (3.0.22) , a dhcp server (which seems to be running correctly--everyone gets an address when they ask for one),

TortoiseCVS
Hi, I'm trying to use TortoiseCVS under Linux (through Wine). I'd like to eventually write some shell scripts to invoke it properly from Nautilus but that is still a ways off. Some of Tortoise's functionality works, like enumerating the code modules in the CVS repository. However, actually checking out code works for the first file but then fails:

Disable A Windows Service Only If It Exists
I am wondering whether it is possible to have Puppet only stop and disable a Windows service if it exists. I have Puppet master 3.1.1 on CentOS, and Puppet clients 3.1.1 on many Windows machines. Right now, I have the bit below for certain nodes: service { "CVSNT": ensure => ''stopped'', enable => ''false'', } Some of the nodes have this

Try adding these to your smb.conf after the 'set printing = bsd' and restart your daemons load printers = No disable spoolss = Yes show add printer wizard = No btw, be sure to remove the quotes from the lines (i.e. set "printing=bsd" should read: set printing = bsd not set "printing=bsd" (you probably knew that already) Are your Windows clients trying to print

KDC Lookup errors only on ads joins.
Hi, As I recall, 3.0.25a creates it's OWN krb5.conf file based on info it gets back from the DC to try to handle site stuff (so it uses the 'nearest' kdc, etc). I forget exactly how this mech. works, but if the kdc returned with the site info (which subsequently gets built into samba's personal 'krb5.conf' file) is down, or replication is off, your kinit would work,

In it's place, we've got a dual xeon box with Mandrake LE2005 and Samba 3.0.13-2 and I'm currently trying to draw the accounts over with vampire. I'm using tdbsam as a backend. I've been through several readme's and howto's and have created all the UNIX accounts,
