Decimal datatype and trailing zeros
Hello I''ve encountered a little problem with zeros using the decimal data type Specifying a scale of 3 and inserting a number with 3 zeros after the point (for example 12345.000) it gets correctly stored in the database, but rails insists to show me the number only with the first zero after the point (12345.0) There is a way to tell rails to not truncate at the first zero?

issues with winbindd
Would anyone have an idea why a group listing returned by wbinfo would be different from the one returned by the native groups command? Also, it turns out that the listing from wbinfo is incorrect. Has anyone else seen this before? I'm running 3.0.20b with my machine in an NT 4.0 domain. Accounts come from a trusted domain running AD mixed mode. Thanks, Franz

Hello, I'm trying out 3.023a on a devt server and I ran into an odd problem. The server is a domain member in an AD mixed mode setup. I am now unable to connect to the server and I have isolated the problem to the valid users entry. My parameter looks like: valid users = @DOMAIN+"groupname with spaces" I've verified that the account I am using is a member of the

to AD or not to AD
Greetings folks, I'm currently using the latest samba 3.x versions but my servers are in an NT4 domain which has a trust relationship with an AD in mixed mode. This has worked flawlessly for the past few years (I started with samba 2.x series). I am heavily considering getting rid of the domain and just moving my servers into the AD itself. Are there any pitfalls I should be wary of in

problems upgrading from 3.0.20b to 3.0.21a
I ran into some problems last night upgrading from 3.0.20b to 3.0.21a. I did my usual build from source, but when I ran it, winbindd would die on me. So I invoked it with -d10 -F and watched the progress on the console. It takes a while reading the winbindd_idmap.tdb file and then eventually, it displays the message "Aborted" and dies. Any ideas? As it was on a production server, I

Bug in quota_get_status
Hi, the configuration option lmtp_rcpt_check_quota = yes didn't work, so I traced down the problem: quota_get_status (quota_storage.c:89) calls quota_test_alloc (quota.c:1352) with size = 0 bytes, which leads always to a FALSE result in quota_is_over (quota.c:1305). I've fixed the function quota_is_over by considering ctx->bytes_over and ctx->count_over. See the included

winbindd and groups
Hello, I'm having problems with group consistencies between my samba server and a trusted domain. I'm running 3.0.23b with my samba server a member of an NT domain, which in turn trusts another domain (AD mixed mode). The AD admin added a user into a group, but my samba server sees the user as being added to a different group. Any ideas? Regards, Franz

Active Directory group membership changes not reflected in winbind information
Hi, I?ve added an existing group (?2d3d?) to an existing user (?jschopp?) on our AD server. When I execute ?id jschopp? the new group membership is not reflected: # id jschopp uid=1333(jschopp) gid=2020(dom?nen-benutzer) groups=2020(dom?nen-benutzer),610(BUILTIN+users) This is a strange behavior. Is this a caching issue? Kind regards, Martin AD: Windows Server 2008 RC2 with Windows Services
