Problem with a samba print server
Hello,
I created a print server SERVIMP(*) with samba 2.2.8,
i put all the printers at it. I installed the
drivers one by one (win98 and win2k) using the
APW of win2000.
The drivers seems to be correctly settled.
Then on SERVIMP I execute with rpcclient the assignment
of the printers to the drivers with $> setdriver printer "driver"
i get success with this.
I can then

statically link icecast2.
Hi there,
I'd want to know how can I statically link icecast 2 when compiling
it on my laptop.
I want to compile it there, then just copy the final statically
linked executable on a server which doesn't currently have the
appropriate libraries (and for which upgrading is currently not an
option).
I've searched a lot, and tried --enable-static and --disable-shared,
but these

pymp3cut v0.27
Hi,
I'm pleased to announce v0.27 of the Python MP3 Cutter.
PyMP3Cut is a Python commandline tool designed to cut huge (> 100MB) MP3
files at high speed without requiring the extra disk space and processing
time usually needed by visual audio editing tools, which convert the MP3
format to more easily manageable formats like WAV before doing anything.
It reads and cuts simultaneously

how to cut very big mp3s ?
Hi there,
maybe someone here could help me solve my problem.
I've streamed two complete days of a congress
using DarkIce and IceCast, but now I want to cut
the mp3 files in parts, a part per speaker.
I've actually got four mp3 files, one for each morning
and afternoon, but each is several hundreds megabytes
long (128 Kbits/s stereo)
Is there any tool available which would allow me to

about loops
Hello !
I have a quick question about loops.
For example, I have a 1 * 1 square and its inscribed circle tangent i, whose radius, of course, is also 1.
The loop here is as the following:
generate n points, say 5, in the square randomly repeatedly until we have five in total in the circle, then we stop, otherwise we continue.
I do not know how !
Help me Please ~
Thank you very much for

Icecast admin interface
I have a problem with Icecast web admin interface.
My icecast.conf file contains :
acl_policy 1
deny all *
allow all *.via.ecp.fr
When connecting to my admin interface, I get a 403 error message ( You don't
have access to this entity (stream or file).), and icecast says "Kicking
unknown 48 [mallet.via.ecp.fr] [No mountfile found], connected for 0 seconds".
There is no firewall

I tried with an empty /etc/hosts.deny, and /etc/hosts.allow only
containing "ALL : ALL".
That did not solve the problem..

Precision
How precise is R numerically? For example I
wrote the following function for calculating
the volume of the ball inscribed in the
unit cube in m dimensions. In order to see what
happens in 40 dimensions, I created an output
of 24 digits. But how many are precise?
Thanks

Why when I share my printer on my linux my xp client can not connect to it.
It can see it in "network neighbourhood" when I want to connect it , the

printer connected to this LPR has status to < ERROR > . I know that It's
caused by my smb.conf:

AW: AW: final question: how many mountpoints can icecast handle ?
Hello Michael
damn, I was afraid of that, but thanks for lightening me up
(although I am in complete darkness now, after having seen
the light just some days ago..)
I'm looking into http streaming of the static files just now,
but I came to find that there is one huge drawback:
1. when sending the stream out with icecast/shoutcast
it would be possible to "push" the next song

Hi,
Last week, while trying to compile IceCast2 from CVS on several Debian
machines (sid, woody, sarge), I encountered a problem where autoconf
told me to file a bug report, which I did with Debian's reportbug
utility.
here's the answer from Ben Pfaff, who's in charge of Autoconf at Debian,
which you may find interesting to read.
hth.
bye,
PS: I've not tested his suggestion

How to place a call to a Google Talk user?
I am trying to "dial" a GTalk, ie @gmail.com, address. I inscribed this address in jabber.conf on the buddy= line. Upon executing the Dial application, I hear only a brief brief ring, then nothing. What might be the trouble?
As the Dial application starts trying, the JABBER chatter on the console includes some "INCOMING" entries that name IP addresses. The one with
