To whom it concern,
There was no problem at all with the installation of the Depot.

configure can't find ldap_initialize on HP-UX 11i
I'm basically using the instructions found in the HP-UX readme with the
exception that I am trying to use the version of openldap that is in
iexpress instead of the one from hpux.cs.utah.edu.
The recommendations listed in the doc are:
HP-UX 11.00 and 11.11:
OpenLdap 2.1.3 (http://hpux.cs.utah.edu)
OpenSSL 0.9.7d (http://hpux.cs.utah.edu)
HP-UX 11.23 only:

server upgrade _net_auth2: creds_server_check failed. Rejecting auth request from
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to upgrade (migrate) from one linux distro (hostname blah) to
another (hostname foobar) using the same server layout, domain and
netbios name and smbpasswd password file. This is a PDC for a windows
domain DOMAIN. The IP has remained the same as the hardware is being
upgraded though I'm changing the hostname and linux distro.
I have copied over the user accounts

Moving PDC from Fedora to RHEL5 - _net_auth2: creds_server_check failed. Rejecting auth request from client
Hi,
I'm in need of some help with moving a Samba PDC with LDAP backend from
Fedora linux to RHEL. The DNS is also running on that server and needs
to be moved also. The DNS and LDAP migration was simple enough. The new
server works just fine when using it's own DNS and LDAP for
authentication, and all the users appear to be intact after the LDAP
import. nss_ldap is working just fine.

user can't logon to specific computer: creds_server_check failed
A few computers -- two or three -- are very spotty about letting
people log on. It seems -- and this could be off-base -- that they'll
let anyone log on once, but will require a reboot before you can log
on again. Sometimes, logging on works fine, though. There really
appears to be little rhyme or reason to what happens.
In the Samba logs, I'm getting:

creds_server_check failed. Rejecting auth request
Hi,
smbd Version 3.0.23c-2 on FC6. tdbsam backend.
I am trying to migrate my domain from a window box to linux. I have
created all the user accounts and some of the machine accounts. I
downed the Windows box and brought the Linux box on-line with same
workgroup name as the old PDC. The smb.conf looks good according to

Problems Compiling samba (samba-3.0.21a) on HP-UX 11.00
We have been experiencing some problems compiling samba with the config
options below.
When compiling the auth_script.c make fails.
As a fix, we removed the conditional if/else/endif statements on lines
143/149/155 and it now seems to compile.
Has anyone else had any similar problem when compiling without the ldap
features or similar

can't change user passwords from xp client machines
All,
I am running samba v. 1.2 on a FreeBSD machine with XP clients. I cannot
make user password changes from the XP machines using ctrl-alt-del > Change
Password. I followed some suggestions in the archives and on the net and
tried "guest account = smbnull." The result of this change was the exact
same error in the smbd log, only instead of 65534 (nobody), the log read 101

NT4 PDC -> Samba/LDAP PDC failing to work
Hi all:
I am trying to migrate my NT4 domain to a samba server which uses an
LDAP server on the backend for authentication
This machine that I want to be the new PDC is running RHEL5 with samba
3.0.23c and an openldap 2.3.27 running on the same machine.
I used the by-example page
http://us3.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/ntmigration.html
as my guide
I set this up in a test environment

I'm running Mac OS X Server 10.2.1, with the built-in Samba stuff
turned off, and a separate install of 2.2.6 in /usr/local/samba. I have
Samba configured as a PDC (which is why I can't use the built-in
version) for the domain "TAMU_FOOD".
Under MOSXS 10.1.x, I was running 2.2.5 the same way, and everything
worked perfectly. I
