Internal Error Signal 11 (Samba 3.2.3)
Hello list users. In my journey to world of Linux/Windows interoperability, I have now almost reached my goal to successfully authenticate Linux users using Windows Server 2003 SP2. The (hopefully) last obstacle is that "wbinfo -i <username>" causes the following error to be produced in log.wb-<DOMAIN> file (consequently, logins are failing also of course). Samba version is

Windows server 2003 SP2, SFU 3.5 and Samba 3.0.28
Hello list users, I have been struggling with this combination in the subject field couple of days now, so I decided to ask for some advice here. Hopefully someone can point me to a right direction. The ultimate goal for me is to authenticate users using AD, so that the UID/GID values configured for users with SFU would also be in use in all our Linux machines. My understanding is that using

Password expire problem
In a samba PDC 2.2.8a I've begun to experience a message on wxp sp1. Whenever a user logs on they recieve a message stating that the password will expire in 3 days. This message never decreases nor will it go away. I looked in the archives and found users who have had similar problems but no solutions. Could anyone comment and offer up a solution? thanks Ross [global] domain master =

`samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix` fails: governsID already exists as an attributeId or governsId
It's amazing how long Samba just keeps running even when apparently everything's broken. In preparation of finally upgrading our DCs to 41.0, I ran dbcheck on all of them, resulting in: graz-dc-sem: > Checking 3861 objects > Error: governsID CN=ucsUser,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=ad,DC=tao,DC=at on 1.3.6.1.4.1.19414.3.2.2 already exists as an attributeId or governsId > Error:

attributeID is not known in our schema, not fixing replPropertyMetaData
I expected that someone had the same problem before. DBchecker module does not provide fix for this. The implication is that the main Samba DC is working fine but does not allow replication with other DCs. They report WERR_DS_DRA_INTERNAL_ERROR in samba-tool dsr showrepl for two two sections: Configuration and the main one that contains the users. Other sections replicate fine. Promoting new DC

winbind backends ad and rfc2307 both with errors...
Hello, I just set up a samba server (version 2:4.1.13+dfsg-4) on Debian 7.7, being a member server of a Win2k8-Domain (before that, that server was an old SuSE (10.4)-Samba with own user-management (standalone-server). I would like to use winbind with the idmap backend "ad" or "rfc2307" instead. When using rfc2307 (like in my conf specified), I can do successfully: wbinfo

Network Time problems with Windows 2k
I searched through the documentation and mailing list archives to find a solution but was unsuccessful. I saw that others had encountered this but I was unable to find a solution. Suggestions This is with samba 2.2.8a functioning as a PDC and Windows clients sp3 RH8.0 Thanks Because of repeated network problems, the time service has not been able to find a domain controller to

Problem with ADS idmap backend
I'm running Samba 3.0.28a on a CentOS 3.9 box as a member of an AD domain whose PDC is a W2k3 server (Standard x64 R2 SP2). Using wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g I can see domain users and groups from the CentOS box, but getent (passwd|group) fails to display them. The nsswitch is setup correctly, as far as I can tell. When I tail -f the samba log file during a getent query, I see that winbindd is

Previously extended schema not working in 4.4.0
Thank you Andrew, really appreciated. I have now run 'samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix' and it has successfully fixed some errors; there were 110 previously, however there are still 69 remaining after a second pass of dbcheck --fix. The remaining errors seem to be mainly of this form: ERROR: duplicate attributeID values for myattrib in replPropertyMetaData on

Hi ..., I am trying to upgrade from Samba 4.4.4 to Samba 4.7.7 and I am facing an error similar to the one mentioned here - https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12297 https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12385 I get the following error message *every time* I run - samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix --yes
