"Complex?" import of pdf files (criminal records) into R table
Hi there,
I'm facing the decision if it would be possible to transform several
more or less complex pdf files into an R Table-Format or if it has to be
done manually. I think it would be a impudent to expect a complete
solution, but I would be grateful if anyone could give me an advice on
how the structure of such a R-program could look like, and if it's
possible in general.

Minor fixes for libvorbis-1.0beta3/anoncvs 2000-11-08
Hi there,
I just built libvorbis from anoncvs and found that a) some files are
missing from lib/books when making dist and b) the GNU GPL instead of the
LGPL is included in the package (contrary to what the README says).
If you reply, please includ me in the Cc: because I'm not on the list.
The missing files are:
res0_160_1024_1.vqh
res0_160_1024_2.vqh
res0_160_1024_3.vqh

e2fsck message "inode is too big"
Hallo List,
after rebooting one of our systems one of the ext3 filesystems, that was
cleanly unmounted, fsck stopped the boot process due to critical errors in
that filesystem.
Running fsck -y manually returned, that one of the i-nodes is "too big" an
was truncated.
After this about three million i-nodes were orphaned an moved to
lost+found.
# strings /sbin/e2fsck | grep -i

UK Encryption ban legislation {from: [comp.risks] RISKS DIGEST 18.95}
I think this is an issue of serious interest to many of the subscribers
of these lists; it would effectively ban a lot of security-related tools
that many of use now find indispensable, e.g. ssh, pgp.

Error in check(itp) : object does not represent a K sample problem with censored data
Hello,
I have two questions regarding a survival analysis I have been
working on. Below is the code to date.
The variables:
1) recidivism$intDaysUntilFVPO are the number of days before an
violent offence was committed - if no offence was committed than the
days between court hearing and end of data collection was recorded.
2) recidivism$intDaysUntilFNVPO are the number of days before a

G.729 and Asterisk intellectual property issues
-- snip --
Had the patch been against the actual g729 libraries the case would have
been clear. Now, the patch is against asterisk to make it interoperate
with the g729 libarary and this may or may not be non-infringing. However,
the distribution of the g729 libraries themselves are almost certainly
infringing. There is also the possibility that the patch to asterisk may
be ruled a

ACPI "blacklist" question
Hello,
I have recently updated a machine to 7-stable.
ACPI doesn't seem to work correctly on this machine.
With earlier versions of FreeBSD (including the latest
RELENG_6), I got this line in dmesg:
ACPI disabled by blacklist. Contact your BIOS vendor.
And everything was fine. The box runs perfectly well
with ACPI disabled. (I can't get a BIOS update because
the mainboard is too

Hello,
As far as I'm aware, email is case insensitive ?
Dovecot however, seems to be taking offence at the fact that someone is
sending mail to user at SOMEDOMAIN.XYZ.
Postfix has no issues handling it, it when it gets passed over to
Dovecot LMTP that I get log lines such as :
