t-test pvalue
Hi all, I have some t-test values, and I am trying to obtain the associated p-values. Is 'pt' the right command? I wonder why 1) it returns different values for x and -x, and 2) how to obtain a 2-sided p-value. example [R version 2.0.1, WinXP]: #if t=2.23 (df=10), the expected p-value is 0.05 for 2-sided and 0.025 for 1-sided t-test pt (2.23,10) [1] 0.9750788 pt (-2.23,10) #or pt

SAMBA: 3.0-alpha18 UNIX: HP-UX 11.0 rsc is a valid account on the machine he's trying to connect to (entry in /etc/passwd, decent permissions on home directory and all parent directories, etc.) The strange thing is sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Trying to debug a WinXP - Win2000 ADSproblem..HELP!
Now I could be way of base here, but I run 2 samba web servers with approx 8 people working with them. So my exp is limited. When I got here the boxes were set up with server level security and I had tons of problems with them. When I reformatted the units, I actually joined the samba boxes to the domain and set the security to "domain" I found these steps in an old version of Linux-Mag,

Samba "hijack" the connection?
Dear all, I have 2 domains: JUPITER.COM (Samba 3.0.23c - Centos5) and WIN.COM (Windows 2000 Adv Srv). I join a windows XP SP1 (MOON), first to Windows domain and then to Samba's. The problem is when I join the XP to Samba's and then try to logon to WIN.COM, the XP is instead logon to Samba, thus the username is not found. The DNS is not a problem, I set the DNS of the XP to

Strange file permissions
Hi I have a samba server with tdbsam passwords, and a share, PROJECTS, which is accessed by various XP home clients, the usenames and passwords being manually synced to the samba ones (less than 10 users, and only 4 workstations). There is one win2K machine, which is a domain member. Subdirectories on PROJECTS have g+s set, so only users, who are members of specific Linux groups, have access to

After that upgrade I discover a strange problem: I can mount/browse/whatever shares with Windows Explorer, MSIE, Firefox ... but I cannot use a mounted share with Macromedia Homesite. I can't see anything in my logs, I allways get a "Connection refused. Maybe you are not authorized to use this share."-message. I

OT: permission denied when opening PDF docs with Acrobat Reader X potected mode
Hi, this might be off topic because it's not a samba problem, but might be interesting for others too. We are running an older samba 3.0.24 working as domain controller (no DFS features). When opening a .pdf file with the Acrobat Reader X from a WinXP SP3 client (maschine is member of the domain) the Acrobat Reader X shows a "permission denied". We see the following in the samba

Access denied to shares samba 3
Hi, I have samba-3.0.23d-1tr on a trustix 3.0 system. This samba was joined to a win 2k3 domain and it works perfect for lot of months. Now I can access only to tmp share, and samba server is very slow to expose all shares. If I launch wbinfo -u or wbinfo -g, I still see the users/group from win2k3 server, but in the log of my winxp client (whose name is Euro15), I see: [2006/12/27 11:52:31, 2]
