Passing arguments to a function within a function ...
Hallo Everybody How do you specify arguments for a function used within another function? Here is my problem: I am reconstructing a calculator for the burden of disease due to air pollution from publications and tools published by the WHO. The calculations make use of published dose-response relationships for particular health end-points. This is then applied to populations with known or

Inconsistent filtering with debugging
Hello, I have the problem, that I have a Postfix/Dovecot combination running with Sieve activated. The sieve script is running in general as some messages get filtered and moved to the appropriate folders. Now, I see that for the envelope filter, the behavior differs depending if I am debugging the rules or if the mails are received in a regular way. I have something like this: require

XCP - xenserver tools required?
One of the issues I''ve had using XenServer in a multitenant environment is the requirement for the VMs to have xentools installed as it causes significant issues when upgrading the VM OS or the pool from one version of XenServer (XCP) to another. Having to touch hundreds VMs (by hand) after an upgrade just doesn''t scale nor is delegating the task to VM owners an option.

rsync --daemon. Can I open more than one instances?
Is there a way to speed up rsync by opening more than one daemon in parallel. I use rsync --daemon to start rsync. I was wondering if opening more than one instance is recommended or feasible? I know that for services like nfs for example I have had opening many instances improve performance. I have 4 cores available so if there are any other parallization modes I'd be glad to know since I

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, I am writing to ask your help with what may be an nmbd interworking problem. The situation is as described in the samba distribution documenet BROWSING.TXT. I have LANS connected by routers to a central site. FreeBSD 2.2.2R/Samba 1.9.17 nmbds at the remote LAN act as WINS proxy's to a a Samba WINS at the central site. All is well when the WINS proxy samba and the

Multiple instances of Asterisk on the same host...
Interesting thread recently about virtual servers... I'm thinking of doing something similar - right now looking at Containers (lxc) rather than "proper" virtualisation though, however it got me thinking of a "poor mans virtualisation" solution... This would assume you have a real server to start with and full root access... I was thinking of simply running multiple

Implementing more than one asterisk instance in the same hardware machine?
Hi All; Did anyone try to implement (installation and configuration and running) for more than one asterisk instance (two or three instances), where each asterisk instance to work on a difference IP than the other where the server already has more than one IP address. We need to implement this situation because in case we need to do testing for any scenario of configuration, then other

[PATCH v4] vhost: disable for OABI
vhost is currently broken on the some ARM configs. The reason is that the ring element addresses are passed between components with different alignments assumptions. Thus, if guest selects a pointer and host then gets and dereferences it, then alignment assumed by the host's compiler might be greater than the actual alignment of the pointer. compiler on the host from assuming pointer is

ioemu in config file and O_DIRECT option
In config file, ''*type=ioemu*'' is added with vif . Does it make the difference if we don''t add. Because i did not notice any difference in para as well as full virtulization. Same as in case of exporting the disk to Guest dom. Is it just a placeholder or else ? Second thing, I am running RHEL3 as a HVM DomU on xen-3.0.4. Every thing works fine, but i had a problem to

Libreoffice and roaming profile log-off delay
samba --version Version 4.0.0rc3-GIT-56ffe75 AD and s3fs on the same box. libreoffice 3.6.1 Hi If a user has used libreoffice, his log-off time is around 3 minutes on both XP and w7. samba shows 50% and smbd shows 20% CPU usage during the delay. I can get the delay down to around 2 minutes by removing all of the optional libreoffice modules (such as the wiki publisher). The delay is less

It is hard to get the information needed to do this properly with centos 6 and KVM since it is so new and the googling of 'KVM' brings up everything except kernel based virtual machines. (PR#1289)
Dear all, I've found a bug report for R when installing it on an AIX5.1 system. There's a followup (number 4) that comments a segmentation fault on R when quitting "q()". I'm using a newer version of R but on the same operating system and I obtain the same error. There was a way to solve this problem? Best regards and thanks, --
