smbldap-useradd problem
Dear list, Arghl! (I'm sure you know the feeling). I'm still hooked on Samba by example, and trying to add users to my ldap tree. $ smbldap-useradd -m -a ldaptest2 Can't call method "get_value" on an undefined value at /usr/sbin/smbldap-useradd line 197 The documentation of the smbldap scripts mentions this sort of error (albeit with a different line number). [LLVMdev] backend question
Hi All, I am writing a backend for an architecture that has only 16-bit word addressing (No byte addresses ever. All data are always 16-bit). How can I specify this in the backend? As an example, consider the following instruction: %arrayidx = getelementptr [129 x i16]* @flags, i16 0, i16 %i.043 When I generate assembler code, this now results in %i.043 being multiplied by 2 in the address

Hello list, I am trying to join a win2k domain with Samba, with security = ads. My member server is a Debian Etch. I get the following error when trying to join the domain: #net ads join -U administrator administrator's password: [2007/10/12 12:04:19, 0] libsmb/cliconnect.c:cli_session_setup_spnego(785) -- Frank Van Damme A: Because it destroys the flow of the conversation

TRD like tool for linux?
so I found that one of my VM hosts seems to have been compromised in some way; I've shut it down, isolated it, found a few odd things like gibberish comments and odd hostnames that I don't recognise pointed back to 127.0.0.1 in /etc/hosts. I tried TRD and it seems mildly useful, but has more of a windowsy feel for what it wants to be able to fix. does anyone know of something with more

very slow boot: stuck at mounting zfs filesystems
Hello list, I''m having trouble with a server holding a lot of data. After a few months of uptime, it is currently rebooting from a lockup (reason unknown so far) but it is taking hours to boot up again. The boot process is stuck at the stage where it says: mounting zfs filesystems (1/5) the machine responds to pings and keystrokes. I can see disk activity; the disk leds blink one after

Solaris 10 winbindd: fatal: init_module: can't find symbol
Hi all I am trying to run samba-3.0.28 on a solaris 10 sparc machine, as a member server for an AD 2003R2. I use nss_ldap-254. I compile samba with: GCC_EXEC_PREFIX=/opt/csw/gnu/ LDFLAGS="-L/opt/csw/lib" CPPFLAGS="-I/opt/csw/include" ./configure --prefix=/opt/samba --with-acl-support --with-quotas --with-included-popt --with-privatedir=/opt/samba/etc/samba/private

Winbindd on FreeBSD 4.10 Help
All, First off I would like to say the book "The Official Samba-3 HowTO and Reference Guide" is awesome I purchased it off Amazon a couple of weeks ago. Ok now on to my problem. I have samba installed and configured and joined the domain no problem. When I run wbinfo -u I can see my domain users, when I run wbinfo -g I can see all my domain groups, BUT if I run

WInbindd Home DIrectory and Shell
With the switch to using winbindd on Domain Controllers in 4.2, should a getent passwd now be showing the home directory and shell that is in the RFC2307 attributes in the directory like a member server does? I all ways thought that this was a difference between the internal winbind and the external winbindd, but my 4.2 DC looks like it is still using the templates rather than looking the

Help for R on Windows for non-Win-enabled!
Hi Folks, I need help with a query about R on Windows, specifically about graphics devices. I'm advising someone remotely (so it's all by email) who is running R on Windows, while I am not (Linux only). Things have reached the stage where saving graphics plots as Windows metafiles is looming. I've been told that the result of "?device" in Windows is as follows (which is

[LLVMdev] Fwd: RFC: "Building with MinGW on Windows" (DOC, NEW)
Now I can't make CMake use "MSYS Makefiles". I get an error about GNU v4.7.0 being broken as it can't build a simple test program. Using "MinGW Makefiles", everything works out of the box. And I am trying to give the user the most Windowsy experience (to avoid Cygwin, GnuWin32, and MSYS, if I can). So I think I'll stick to my current angle - which is to let the

what is the recommended samba version on solaris?
Guys I was so frustrated about installing samba with ADS and winbind support on solaris 8. After fixing many problems, I am now facing another problem: I created a directory "test" in the samba share and was editing a file under the directory "test" and in the meantime the machine was rebooted. After the machine is started, the whole directory "test" is gone. I

idmap + ldap + nsswitch +winbindd
Hello, I have a couple of questions regarding group mapping. I am working on configuring Samba 3.0.0 on FreeBSD with LDAP support. 1. Am I correct in that winbindd needs nsswitch to work? If so I would need to run FreeBSD 5.1 and not FreeBSD 4.x so that I had NSSwitch support. 2. If I am correct in question 1 is anybody running FreeBSD 5.1 with nsswitch with Samba 3.0.0 +LDAP successfully? 3.

"getent passwd" Solaris command on returns local users (no Domain users) 2. winbindd authentication to the PDC is not occurring. 3. local users cannot change password since I modified the
