Trusted domain user login
Greetings, We are currently experiencing logon problems with a trusted domain user(s). Example: We have DomainA and DomainB DomainA and DomainB both have workstations joined on their respective domain. DomainA and DomainB both have trust relationships. DomainA trusts DomainB and vise versa. DomainA is where being served by a Samba PDC, while DomainB has a PDC using Windows NT 4.0 Server When

strange situation
smbd version 3.0.25b-0.4E.5 Our server was functioning very well for several months. Our SAN crapped out and the LUN the server was using was gone. Everything is back up except SAMBA is acting crazy. I am looking at the logs and I am getting /var/log/samba/winbindd.log winbindd: Exceeding 200 client connections, no idle connection found and ads_krb5_mk_req: krb5_get_credentials failed for

wbinfo -u -g work, wbinfo -i and getent fail
Hi all, I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 samba 4.1.6 packages, attempting to set up a server for file shares AD clients can use. My previous setup was a simple AD join with a user map file (1 to 1 AD to unix user) that i've been migrating for approximately 7 years, and with the last 2003 AD server removed from the network it stopped working (2008 R2 DC's now). After approximately 2 weeks of

wbinfo -u does not listed trusted users, wbinfo -n works
Running a mix of samba versions (3.6.25 and 4.5.1) in two domains- one "classic" (with samba domain controllers) and one AD (with windows domain controllers.) The eventual goal is to drop the classic domain in favor of the AD domain. Also trying to move from samba 3.x to 4.x since Samba 3 is EOL'd. the "wbinfo -u" command will list users in the servers domain

wbinfo -u does not listed trusted users, wbinfo -n works, idmap not working
On both Samba 4.5.1 member server and Samba 3.6.25 member server I tried the following command wbinfo –set-uid-mapping=35049,S-1-5-21-xx-xx-xxx-xxx this should have created a mapping entry consistent with the one on the domain controller for a trusted user But I got the following error failed to call wbcSetUidMapping: WBC_ERR_NOT_IMPLEMENTED As far as I can tell from network

winbind, ads, win2k3, trusted domains, user mapping
I have been ready everything I can regarding this setup but am having a problem that I am unsure of. I am unable to authenticate any user despite the following commands working: %> getent passwd <username> %> wbinfo -u %> wbinfo -g With the getent passwd I am able to see all of my UID/GID being mapped via winbdind to the rid of the domain user account. This command fails: %>

wbinfo -u does not return users from trusted domains
Hi, I'm using samba 4.4.9 in an environment with trusted domains (windows 2k12R2; domain names: res.local, sub.res.local, res2.local). When I use getent passwd/group I can get list of users/groups from all domains (res, sub, res2). However, when I use wbinfo -u/-g I get list of users/groups only from the native domain I am connected to (res). I'am able to fetch users/groups using

wbinfo works, id and getent don't
This is a common thread and I'm wondering where they answer is.. I can see this theme posted many times -- recently here https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2015-May/191483.html and for which I was not able to find a solution The situation is this.. Samba 4.2 compiled from source on ubuntu 14. server. Samba 4.2 AD DC is working great in sliced server. the samba member server joined fine.

wbinfo -S SID deliver -1
i have setup a samba server as a AD member. AD: 2012R2 The first day everything was working fine. After restart the Samba Service i had no access to my shares. getent passwd and getent group deliver the UID and GID : 4294967295:4294967295: by all AD Users which is -1 (FFFF FFFF) wbinfo -n user deliver S-1-5-21-4001112740-1724199908-163113746-1106 SID_USER (1) which is correct ! Domain member seems to work, wbinfo -u not
Yeah, i have an output of log level 10 while i do a wbinfo -u. As for the packages below. 4.1.17, yes, im upgrading these as we speak, but now on hold due to this problem. 4.2.20 .. error typo, is Version 4.2.10-Debian 4.3.7.. yeah, but 4.3.8 is not in debian, the 4.3.7 is the package version debian used for the latest CVE fixes. Im waiting until 4.4.2 is out of experimental so i can

Samba 3.0.22 error with domain accounts
I have compiled Samba 3.0.22 on Solaris 10 (sparc.) It has been configured as a PDC with a domain of, say, "SAMBADOMAIN." It has some predefined group mappings for the Administrators and "Domain Admins" group. These mappings were dropped in later versions of Samba. (I have been working with 3.0.24 as well. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to play nice with

inconsistency?
I am less than familiar with Microsoft, so I guess it might be an FAQ... if I click on "network neighborhood" which reveals a Samba server, it shows a list of all shares. If I click on a share, I get a message "cannot find share name". Somehow this does not sound logical to me... what is wrong?

AD integration: "getent passwd" can't see *new* users, but "wbinfo -u" can
I have two different systems (on different networks) showing this behavior. Both are running Ubuntu Dapper/606.1 LTS with samba version 3.0.22 and windows 2003 sp1 servers (not R2). AD integration is done via winbind, with nss using winbind. At some point in time (which is unknown to me), the samba server stopped seeing new users, groups, machines which are added to AD. scenario: I add a new

on NMDS graphics
Hi, I have used Vegan to construct an NMDS ordination plot. I plotted sites of three forest types with the site number in it. My reviewer has asked me to use different symbols for each of the forest types. Can anyone send me how I can do this in R in simple steps. I have used the options like ordiplot, sel and pl syntaxes that are not working for the question that I asked for. Best, Sinu --
