Conditionnal shutdown
Hello,
Being new to this list and to Nut, maybe my question has been asked
before but I didn't find a clear answer.
My question is : is it possible to make nut aware of the percentage (or
duration) of time before the UPS exhausts its power ? Thus making Nut
conditionning the shutdown of the servers depending on the remaining
load.

Managing a Samba4 AD DC using a Win7 workstation
Hello,
I just installed Samba4 using the following doc :
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO
Everything works Ok. All tests are Ok.
Now, I would like to manage it from a remote Windows7 Virtualbox
workstation.
For that, I followed the following doc :
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_management_from_windows
I installed the RSAT component but when trying to connect the

Quota support in Samba4
Hi,
Is it possible to handle quota management on a samba4 share ?
To be more precise, is it possible to have the same quota management as
in Windows File Servers.
Thanks.

Samba4, multiple domains and a forest
Hello,
I have tested Samba4 as an AD domain controller for a small group of
computers and it works really great.
My question is about multi-domains and forest.
We plan to eventually use Samba4 for a large amount of entities (60+).
These entitites should share resources between each other.
As we have a central site, we were guessing to use Samba4 as to create
a forest and create as much domains

I'm trying to get the following project to work :
* acquisition from video acqusition card using vlc
* vlc transcode to theora/vorbis and sends it to an icecast2 server

Previously extended schema not working in 4.4.0
Thank you Andrew, really appreciated.
I have now run 'samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix' and it has
successfully fixed some errors; there were 110 previously, however there
are still 69 remaining after a second pass of dbcheck --fix.
The remaining errors seem to be mainly of this form:

Thank you, Andrew - I hadn't done so. (In a good way, I haven't yet had
problems with samba that have caused me to delve quite so deeply into the
DB :) so I'm not as familiar with the range of tools as I could be, sorry!)
This has flagged up quite a few errors, all along the lines of:
# samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs

LDAP_MATCHING_RULE_IN_CHAIN no longer working after upgrade?
Thank you Andrew and Rowland.
(Rowland - I tried 'samba-tool dsacl get', thank you! but found the
output hard to decipher so I used ldp.exe on Windows instead in the
end)

creating OU with samba4
Hello guys!
How I can create an organizationalUnit (OU)?
Now I created an user into an OU already existent, but I need to create a new OU.
I tried with:
root at s1 :~#nano file.ldif
dn: ou=MyOU,DC=dominio,DC=pdc,DC=cu
objectClass: top
objectClass: organizationalUnit
ou: MyOU
root at s1 :~#ldbadd --url=/var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb file.ldif
but when I search MyOU on the Active

Tests just deleted my production Database!!! PLEASE
When you run your functional tests, rake wipes the "test" database clean and
recreates it based on what is in the "development" database. Since it
appears you are using the same database for both, that would explain why you
lost your data. In addition, if you omit the data needed to access the
development database you will get an error like you described, because

Slow ldap membership query in large active directory
Hey there,
we've been using Samba AD DC successfully for about 4 years in our
school with about 1000 people. 4 years ago we decided to create a group
for each class + subject combination, so we have about 1400 groups with
~30 members each (some are much bigger up to 800 people and others have
only a few members). One of our systems, which uses LDAP, needs to
retrieve the gidNumber of all
