I have tried to work it out from samba by example, but since the automatic driver download is bundeled togehter with ldap (which I am not using), this does not get me anywhere. I had a serious problem with all my WinXP (some SP1, some SP2) comps printing over samba to a printer (both, Samba and printer on Kubuntu (Dapper)). It printed, but it took easily 20 minutes to get the printout. The file sharing worked very fast and there were no error messages in Samba logs. I setup samba 3.09 printing with cups. However the dialogue box takes about 10 - 15 seconds to load or even when i switch printer or change properties to printers.
