smbspool with cups
I'm trying to use CUPS with kerberos to forward on to smbspool. CUPS appears
to make the assumption that smbspool will use the environment variable
KRB5CCNAME, but it doesn't appear to, instead looking for the submitting
user's credential in the expected location in /tmp. This isn't much use in my
case where the user's credential has been saved to /tmp in a different

smbspool to Windows 2000 Server: "ERRgeneral opening remote file"
Hi,
I am trying to print from my Debian unstable Notebook to a printer
that is connected to a Windows 2000 Server. Target environment is CUPS
which uses smbspool as a front-end, and smbspool gives a strange error
message.
| export DEVICE_URI="smb://account:password@domain/server/printer"
| smbspool foo bar Title 1 ignore Makefile
gives the error message

smbspool
Hi,
We have unified logons on Linux and Windows clients by
using a Windows 2000 AD domain with
pam_winbind/nss_winbind on linux clients, the problem
is, smbclient and smbspool still require us to enter a
password instead of using the logged on users
credentials. Is there anyway to pam-enable smbclient
and smbspool?

smbspool and printing
Hi Folks,
Just looking for a little direction here.
1) windows ADS server with printers.
2) linux workstations which use smb to authenticate users to win ADS
server, and auto mounts there home directories through smb.
Question:
Printing from linux workstation?
I know I can use smbspool to print, but this requires user password. Can I
automate this so there is no need for password? Because the

smbspool, well, doesn't
I have two users who wish to print to their printers attached to their
XP Pro workstations from our linux server.
After trying (And failing) to set it up via the CUPS interface, I
started tinkering at the lower level, doing things like:
$ smbspool smb://printuser:printpass@OUR_NT_DOMAIN/HERMACHINENAME/hp 10
printuser testtitle 1 '' /etc/hosts
... which yielded no results whatsoever.

I tried at work to run "/usr/bin/smbspool" manually:
---
$ /usr/bin/smbspool Xerox-WorkCentre-5325 \'5\' \'yugiohjcj\' \'2.pdf\' \'1\'
DEBUG: Connected with username/password...
---
The behavior at work is different from the one at home because it is not the same computer used and the /etc/samba/smb.conf is available.
However, as you can see above, the

Hello,
There is a printer at work (a Xerox WorkCentre 5325).
I am able to print using the following command: smbclient //MyHiddenPC/MyHiddenShare -WMyHiddenDomain -c 'print my-hidden-file.pdf'.
However, it does not work when I try to print through CUPS using the following command: lp my-hidden-file.pdf.
In the CUPS error_log file, the only error I can read is: [Job 5] PID 27883

ERROR: cli_session_request() failed...
Hello,
I am using smbspool and I seem to be getting an error that I can't find
a solution to. I checked Google, Usenet and the samba archives. I seem
to find people with the problem, but no answer. When I try to use the
smbspool program, I get the following error:

Hi,
I've been working on some systems trying to get kerberized nfsv4 and
kerberized web services going on 7. Kerberized nfsv4 was working with
7.0, but with the 7.1 release it stopped working, the key difference
between the two setups is that gssproxy wasn't being used with 7.0, but
seems to be key with 7.1.
The problem I am encountering with Kerberized NFSv4 is that the

Using kerberized SSHD. Question.
I have a kerberized SSHD installed on HOST-1, a login server for the
outside world.
How can I make it so users are still authenticated via kerberos, even
though they haven't yet received a ticket?
The main reason for this is that a user who is at home, no vpn, but has
an ssh client could then login and be authenticated by kerberos using
password authentication, get a ticket, then be allowed

Privilege Attribute Certificate (PAC) Disabled/Samba authentication
Hi,
I'm currently attempting to setup a Linux Samba and Kerberized NFS
server using a Windows 2008 R2 Domain controller as a KDC and I've run
into an issue.
Currently I can make Kerberized NFS or Samba fileserving work but not
both at the same time.
Specifically: The Linux kerberized NFS daemon (rpc.svcgssd) appears to only be
able to deal with service tickets up to a certain size.

XEN Paravirtualized CentOS5 beta on CentOS5 beta
Dear All,
I'm trying to install CentOS5 beta as paravirtualized guest on a CentOS5
Xen host using virt-manager.
Everything seems to go OK. I'm able to run virt-manager and fill-out all
the details. Because you can only do a http/ftp/nfs install when setting
up a paravirtualized guest using virt-manager, I made the whole contents
of the CentOS5 beta DVD available via ftp.

We use it here. I don't think I'm an expert - my manager is - but let me
