-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 "smbclient -L Server" lists, all my shares http://www.howtoforge.com/accessing_windows_or_samba_shares_using_autofs got me to automount my shares. But I still can't save directly (files) from Firefox (on openSUSE) directly to my FC6 server. I would likt to avoid the step of saving to client, then moving file to server. What else

Samba and OSX 10.4
Is OSX 10.4.10 compatible with Samba's print server software? My I.T. Dept has had no luck in getting this to work. From what I've seen online, there does seem to be issues, but Samba also seems to be fully supported by Apple which doesn't make sense if it's not compatible. Thanks Kevin

pam_mkhomedir.so not working.
Sambains, I gotta samba setup where I use pam_mkhomedir.so to create home dir for first time users. Same configuration is working on many hosts and if I create a home directory manually, I can login, but not on fly. And also when I change the /home permission to 777, its creating home directory for new users on fly. When strace a su session, I getting the following error. My guess is the module

Letter instead of A4 with driver installed via Samba's Point'n'Print
Hello everyone, I have already asked for this the cups list/newsgroup, but it seems to me that this might be more a question about Samba. According (hopefully) to these howtos I have setup printers and prepared their cups postscript drivers to be installed automatically via Samba and the so called Point'n'Print method: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-456501-highlight-.html

Problems with the console functions?
Dear Wine-experts, I've tested the functionality of simple CUI-applications with wineconsole (Wine-0.9.50, Ubuntu 7.10). Somewhat surprisingly, there seems to be numerous major flaws in the current implementation. The best (worst?) example is the widely distributed sample code ("Console: Demonstration of the Console Functions") available in the MSDN library

one DomU, 2 IP =>why ? any ideas,
Hi, I needed to switch one DomU from one IP to an other tonight. I''m on centos 5.2 (Dom0 and DomU) Therefore, I made a script using perl to make so. This script modify the IPADDR line in the following files : - /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 - /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth0 - /etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/default/ifcfg-eth0 Then I reboot the VM and it

got too little data ??
I just switched in a hurry one of our mailbox servers from UW-imapd to Dovecot in an attempt to address performance and stability problems. This server hosts ~5500 accounts, ~2000 are daily used, ~600 simultaneous IMAP connexions in rush hours, and lots of POP ones. Some accounts may be accessed simultaneously with IMAP and POP. The system is : - Debian Sarge (x86 with amd64 kernel) - MBOX files

Rspec book issue (mastermind example)
Hey Everyone, Just a simple question. I have read and re-read the examples and I''m not getting the proper output. I''m on page 73/74 of the Rspec book and it says I should have "4 steps passed". I think the problem is within my /step_definition/mastermind.rb" file. It''s definitely not beyond me to make a mistake, but I have checked and double checked my

Security issue #5: mail_extra_groups setting is often used insecurely
mail_extra_groups=mail setting is often used insecurely to give Dovecot access to create dotlocks to /var/mail directory. If you don't use mboxes in /var/mail, make sure this setting is cleared. If you do use /var/mail mboxes and Dovecot gives permission errors without it, do one of the following (in the preferred order): a) Upgrade to v1.0.11 and use the new mail_privileged_group setting

ip alias + dsl modem
Hi Guys, Just wondering for some reason when I switched providers(DSL) IP aliasing stopped working. And, I am not sure what kind of modem this is, the previous one had some Ethernet ports at the back(it has a bult-in 4 port switch) the new doesn''t have one, only a single Ethernet port and It is directly connected to my Linux box. My provider gave me a /24 subnet and 9 useable

[Bridge] Unexpected behaviour
Hi, I've set up a bridge using the 2.6.11.6 kernel. The machine is running Debian testing with three NICs in it. eth0 is a standard 100Mb Intel NIC, eth1 and eth2 are both Intel gigabit cards using the e1000 driver. I tested everything at 100Mb and it worked fine. I moved the machine into production, eth1 plugging into a dumb 100Mb D-link switch, eth2 plugging into a shiney new Cisco
