error in logs after upgrade to 3.0.1
This is probably pretty simple. The following error appears in my logs since upgrading from version 2.2.8 to 3.0.1: [2003/12/25 14:44:09, 0] rpc_server/srv_util.c:get_domain_user_groups(372) get_domain_user_groups: primary gid of user [testuser] is not a Domain group! get_domain_user_groups: You should fix it, NT doesn't like that I'm guessing that my user's primary group

Response to query re: calculating intraclass correlations
Karl, If you use one of the specialized packages to calculate your ICC, make sure that you know what you're getting. (I haven't checked the packages out myself, so I don't know either.) You might want to read David Futrell's article in the May 1995 issue of Quality Progress where he describes six different ways to calculate ICCs from the same data set, all with different

Cannot make Windows join Samba domain
Hi, I'm having an issue trying to make a Windows machine sambaserveroin a Samba domain. Samba is running with LDAP backend (OpenLDAP). When I try to join the domain, Windows says that the machine account does not exist. The machine account, however, is successfully created in the LDAP directory after the join fails. When I try to join again, Windows says that the account already exists.

migrate machine-passwords from smbpasswd to ldap?
I'm just migrating a whole samba-installations ffrom old 2.2 to 3.0 with LDAP. I was successfully able to migrate all useraccounts with smbldap-useradd but now I'm stuck with the machine-accounts. All machines are part of the domain and they should be able to logon the new server without noticing any difference. I can add them with smbldap-useradd -w but the resulting ldap-entry does

Problems with the console functions?
Dear Wine-experts, I've tested the functionality of simple CUI-applications with wineconsole (Wine-0.9.50, Ubuntu 7.10). Somewhat surprisingly, there seems to be numerous major flaws in the current implementation. The best (worst?) example is the widely distributed sample code ("Console: Demonstration of the Console Functions") available in the MSDN library

sambaDomainName=DOMAIN for next free id
Hi, I'm following JHT's example doc off the web. I just applied a patch for the confiure.pl script for the smbldap-tools that John gave me. It now makes the sambaUnixIdPooldn object default to: cn=sambaDomainName=DOMAIN whereas the output of the configure.pl script given in Chapter 9 of the book is shown as: sambaDomainName=DOMAIN I now have the first version of the sambaUnixIdPooldn
