Problems with groups containing other groups in AD in winbind
Hi there,
I have winbind running on Linux machines to do all user authentication
and group info. It is working mostly fine but groups in AD that have
other AD groups as members are not expanded. For instance in AD I define
group A to contain users X and Y. Then I add group B of which A is a
member (but X and Y are not directly members of B). If I do 'getent
group A' on the Linux

Sipura 2000 intermitent failure to register
I have asterisk 1.0.2 and a Sipura SPA-2000 (firmware 2.0.6(c) ).
Today it started to log "registration failed" at intermitent periods.
It registers fine, after a few minutes it can no longer register, then
after a few minutes it registers fine again.
I am wondering if there is a known issue with either asterisk or that
sipura firmware.

Intermitent Samba connection problem
Some of the computers in our network keep having trouble connecting to
samba
I was able to restore the connectivity by placing the computer and IP
address in the host file.
Immediately after that the client was able to connect. It is my
understanding that when Samba is
using WINS if the WINS server fails to respond within a certain length
of time then these are the types
of errors I will get. Is

Intermitent voice issues
Hi all and thanks for reading.
I am experiencing a frustrating issue with asterisk where on some
calls the volume suddenly drops to inaudible o completely fades away
for a time. If you hold on long enough (20 to 30 seconds) the sound
will come back.
My asterisk server is on a public IP, and basically acts as a VoIP
bridge receiving calls from my customers (all of whom use Grandstream

Intermitent loss of contact with Win95 share.
Hello :
One Win95 client, connected over a SLIP connection to an SCO Openserver 5.0
has been working fine until System Administrator has updated OS Version to
Unixware 7.1.0.
On this server (Unixware 7.1.0) , I've installed Samba 2.0.2 to access all
Win9x shares.
All shares on the LAN (connected via TP 10Mb cards) work fine, but when I
print any job to Win95 client connected via SLIP

Intermitent ''lost connection to mysql'' error
Hi,
I''ve been looking at Ruby on Rails for an in-house project where I
work. After I got everything setup correctly (apache, fcgi, mysql, etc)
I''ve started to run into "lost connection to mysql" errors. I googled
to try and find a solution, but most of the problems people seem to be
having are constant and simple to fix. I haven''t found anyone talking

intermitent domain logon failures
I have an issue where at odd times, maybe after 3 days, maybe after a
week, people suddenly cant do domain logons. Unfortunately the machine
is 50km away so i'm sure theres more details I can glean once I can
interogate the users a bit more.
Things I have noticed:
Anyone currently logged in can still work fine.
A restart of samba fixes the issue (till it hapens next).

network intermitent, not sure if virtualization issue
I have a computer I am using to host a virtual machine.
Centos 6, for both, 64 bit.
The host machine's network connection seems fine. No problems.
Trying to access the virtual machine is usually fine.
but then, poof, ssh, http, ftp, all lose connection for about a minute.
Then they come back up.
I looked in all the logs on both machines, could find nothing, but not
sure where to look.

Intermitent ldap auth problems benchmarking dovecot
Hello
We are using SLAMD (Distributed Load Generation Engine, www.slamd.com) to benchmark our dovecot server (ldap auth). We are simulating 2.000 simultaneous logins and 20% of them fail. We saw the following errors in the log:

GPL PV Intermitent Network Problems
Well, I seem to have developed a strange issue with the GPL PV drivers
in Windows. I''m running Xen 3.2 on SLES 10 SP2 and running some Windows
XP HVM domUs. Most (12-15) of my Windows machines work just fine. Two
of them, though, have started exhibiting a strange behavior with
intermittent network connectivity. Basically, the network starts up and
connects initially. After some

Extremely frustrating intermitant printing problem.
We are running Suse Linux 8.2 with Samba 3.0.0.1 and Cups as our print
server on a network with windows 98 and 2000 clients and HP1300, 2100, 2200
and 4050 printers. We are experiencing an intermitant error whereby the
printer on the client machine will set itself to work off line and sometimes
freeze up the pc when an attempt is made to print from it. This error does
not happen in any consistant

linux server not caching users
I've got a CentOS 5 server joined to a Windows 2003 Domain.
The Linux machine joined the Windows domain successfully and imported
users, created their home directories and migrated their passwords.
When looking at the current home directory

Home drive and logon scripts intermitently not applied
Hi folks,
This problem has been driving me nuts for the last 3 years... Now I am
running Samba 4.0.9 but the very same was happening before the
migration to AD, with Samba 3.x. Most clients are running WinXP SP3
with all updates.
The problem is that both the logon script and home drive defined on
the "Profile" tab on the AD Users and Computers MMC, *RANDOMLY* and
*INTERMITENTLY* does

[scriptaculous] Intermitently Disabling Clicks
I have button that slides down a menu using Effect.BlindDown, but the
function that slides it down also makes it so that the opening link
now slides the menu back in.
If the user double clicks the link (thuse opening & closing
immediatley) the slide animation breaks, then will not extend
correctly (but no JS errors). How would you go about stopping this
happening?
Also, is it just me or is

Secondary groups not recognized by Samba
I am running Samba 4.1.12 with SSSD 1.12.2 on RHEL 7.1. I have joined my
system to a Win 2008r2 domain. I have added the necessary unix attributes
to all relevant users and groups. When I add a domain group to a
directory, either as the primary group or as an ACL, I can access the share
locally from the server, but cannot access the share from a Windows system
via the SMB share. If I change

large data set (matrix) using image()
When I use the image() function for a relatively small matrix it works perfectly, eg.x <- 1:100
> z <- matrix(rnorm(10^4),10^2,10^2)

z <- matrix(rnorm(10^6),10^3,10^3)
image(x=x,y=x,z=z,col=rainbow(3))

different codecs all with the same effect. It's the local wan so I
