smb panic when adding printer with apw
Hi, I'm using samba 3.3.15 as domain member in an w2k8 ad. We're using the w2k3/xp add printer wizard to add a printer to the server. Since the update from 3.2.15 to 3.3.15 the apw fails when clicking on the "finish" button. At the same time a smb panic occurs and fills the smbd log with the lines below. [2011/06/24 07:47:56, 0] lib/debug.c:reopen_logs(663) Unable to

configs
I'm seeing very long delays the first time winbind accesses the network. See: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=496569 I've tried lots of things, down to stripping the config to a bare minimum for ADS security and even killing ipv6 support on the box. Nothing has resolved this. Does anyone see anything obviously wrong with this configuration that might cause a very long

Add Printer Wizard and Slowness
Hello all, We have a Samba box set up as our primary campus print server, running CUPS 1.1.19 and Samba 3.3.0. Our primary interface for adding printers is the Add Printer Wizard. I am finding very slow response while adding/modifying/deleting printers. Making changes to any of the settings for a printer (default tray, driver, etc) can take 20-40 seconds or will sometimes timeout, requiring a

Add Printer Wizard Plus CUPS
I'm having some problems with our Samba Add-Printer-Wizard setup and CUPS. Everything is working fine (drivers upload, download, configured) except for one thing. Both my addprinter and deleteprinter scripts are forced to restart Samba in order to successfully complete their respective adding and deleting. Because of this, sometimes Samba will not come back up correctly. I read that

Winbind idmap_rid - no members in "domain users" .....
On my ADS member server it doesn't show any members of GUESTSHIRE\domain users:x:5513: using getent group Is this normal behavior? If not any ideas how do I fix it? Out of curiosity I shutdown winbind and samba, deleted all *.tdb files ( except secrets) and restarted them. Same thing happens. There are no users in there... But if I check in AD users and computers my users are all members

Hard time installing printers 3.4.8
Hello, been googling this for a while. Read GD's presentation on why printing is such a pain... Anyway, I'm using 3.4.8 on Freebsd 8.1 I've tried a few combinations - best luck is with 3.2.5, but I'd like to move forward a bit. So, I've got the ADS part working pretty good. happy with how that's going. my problem is when I attempt to load printer drivers.

samba shares fail after active directory reboot
We have a samba server that uses active directory security. We have three active directory servers and use a dfs namespace (test.local) to encompass those three servers. We currently are using password server = TEST.local, but have had all three AD servers listed, but it has not helped. Whenever ANY of those servers go down for maintenance, the samba shares do not come up and restarting the
