Pls help on Shorewall installation
Hi all,
This might be more suitable for the shorewall list, but no one has replied yet
for several days. I'm trying bandwidth management feature of
shorewall-3.4.1-3 on Centos 4.4
with no updates.
I've got this error:
May 4 22:30:14 gateway shorewall: ERROR: Command "tc qdisc add dev eth0

Is the term 'home dir' and 'roaming profiles' different?
Hello,
I've just been exploring Samba again after some time, and this time I'm
setting a Samba PDC with LDAP. Thanks for great tutorial from Samba website,
I think I got it working fine :)
However, I've been browsing the list too, and am a bit confused with the
term: 'homedir' and 'roaming profiles'. Is it different? If I'm not mistaken,
homedir is for Win9X

Samba 3.6.4 on Solaris - groups for user inconsistent
Hi all,
I'm having an issue with Samba 3.6.4 on Solaris using Active Directory
with a Windows Server 2008 domain controller. I should state early on
that I do not believe this is a manifestation of the Solaris 16 group
limit - the number of groups is well below 16.
Winbind seems to be working fine - I can use wbinfo -r to check the
groups that a user is a member of, it returns the list of

SOLVED: passive FTP doesn''t work

Hi all,
Remember my thread that I can''t FTP into my server? It seems that (well, what
Tom has suggested) ip_conntrack_ftp and ip_nat_ftp weren''t loaded. I don''t
know why in that particular machine mdk9.2 doesn''t load them by default,
whereas in other machine they were loaded.
I have put them in /etc/modules, and

How to preserve capital letter
Hi all,
I'm not sure whether it is samba related, but I've got this situation:
I'm sharing a clipper program with samba, and then user access it using dosemu
installed in each workstation.
The program runs fine, except, when it creates a temporary file, it creates
the filename in small letter (not in capital letter when run in DOS). Seems
that the program is having trouble with

Hi all,
This one really beats me. I''ve run out of idea how to get this right (well, I
plan to format it and replace with mdk9.2).
I''m running a gateway on mdk9.0 box using gShield. Now, since I have been
using shorewall on my notebook with great satisfaction, I want to replace
gShield with shorewall.
So, I set it with this

File Locking
Hi-
I'm running Samba on OpenSuse10.2 and have shared some drives with
Windows clients. The clients are accessing a bunch of MS Word files on
the server and we have experienced a lot of weird file locking
problems.
Sometimes MS Word will open the file as Read-Only which is creating a
bit of a headache. I would like to turn off file locking completely on
the Samba side and was wondering

Zimbra help?
Hi All,
Is anyone versed in Zimbra? I have most things working except some MTA issue. I tried posting on the Zimbra forums after reading the docs, but my post was labeled as SPAM and the moderators have not replied to my private message to get my post reviewed. Who uses this type of method for getting help anyway? Aren't the days of Bulletin Board BBS's gone?
Anyway...

Samba4 Exporting a DER
Hi guys,
I know this is a bit off topic, but I'm trying to install a Zimbra
password extension so that users who aren't joined to my Samba4 domain
have a method to reset their passwords via the Zimbra Webmail and part
of the setup requires the exporting of the domain controller DER.
These are the instructions...
As root, create the /opt/zimbra/lib/ext/adpassword directory

Zimbra benchmarking
Now that I have a working kvm setup, I thought I'd finally try how
Zimbra works. This is mainly some microbenchmarking, so it may not have
much to do with actual performance in real life.
Setup:
- 1GB memory given to kvm (from host's 2GB)
- Intel Core 2 6600 (kvm uses only one CPU)
- CentOS 5
- 15GB qcow2 image on XFS filesystem
- Zimbra 5.0 RC2 RHEL5 x86_64
- Dovecot latest hg,

Has anyone gotten Zimbra to work on an installation of CentOS4.3,
