Samba not seeing any interfaces
I've built samba for an embedded mips platform. Since this is an
embedded platform, it's possible that some critical file that samba
needs is missing but stracing the daemons doesn't reveal anything strange.
It's running 2.4.34 kernel.
Samba is failing to find any interfaces.

nmbd over ppp
hello everyone.
I don't have a network, but I'm trying to get my friend to
dialin and use my shares that I have provided via smb. Now I have a big
prob with nmbd and ppp. Under Interfaces I can specify ppp* 192.168.0.2
, which is the ip that the dialin user is assigned and yet still nmbd
shuts down showing an error that no interfaces were found.

Can't use proxy after client upgrade
Hello,
After upgrading my client system from Debian jessie to Debian stretch
(which includes an update from tinc 1.0.24 to tinc 1.0.31), I am
having trouble with my VPN:
As long as I let tinc connect directly (no "Proxy" configuration
option on the client), everything works fine:
# tincd -n rath -D -d

setuids mount option broke
Hello,
I'm trying to export a /home/ partition for multiple users, using
Samba and the setuids option. My goal is to deliver emails into
$HOME/.Maildir/ for each user. So I mount the share as user "root",
hoping that each user will be able to use their own home directory (just
like an NFS /home/ mount). (This feature depends on the Unix extensions.)
I have the

Dovecot says the message was stored into a Spam mailbox but it's not there
Hi,
I have a problem with storing messages into a Spam folder by dovecot.
Log says that message was stored into Spam mailbox but when I check
there is no message in users's Spam mailbox.

"Unauthorized request" messages after tinc update
Hello,
I have three clients that connect to one server. The server runs tinc
1.0.11 and one client runs tinc 1.0.19. I recently upgraded the two
other clients from tinc 1.0.11 to tinc 1.0.16.
Since the upgrade, the server now regularly logs messages of the form

Public folder doesn't work
Hey,
I have some issues with dovecot, because the public folder won't show up in
Mail accounts.
Dovecot is installed via zentyal 3.3.
I tried several settings, but I dont get it running.
What I tried is adding this to my dovecot.conf file
# User's private mail location
mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir
# When creating any namespaces, you must also have a private namespace:

samba and darwin/macos x
Does anyone on the list have any comments or suggestions about
configuring samba to run with MacOS X/Darwin? I recently inherited a G4
Powerbook and am having a blast playing with it.
My story is that after loading the Apple developer tools it builds and
installs fine. I can start smbd, but nmbd fails to start and gives the
following errors that don't mean anything to me:

Hello we use a samba with a old ldap (zentyal-ebox), for now it is
impossible to update to new samba version because we use the ldap schema
repository for others purposes, son we can move to another version that
support samba 4 AD, for the moment we just keep this version.
It is possible to join and validate user with linux desktop, we actually
use a lot of clients with windows xp/7 and work

netbios uses incorrect broadcast value and termintaes
Hi All,
I am using samba Version 3.5.4 on AIX 6.1.
The installation is through pware binary ( pware53.samba.rte 3.5.4.0).
There seems to be a strange issue with NetBios where it terminates with the
following error logged just after starting.
The diagnosis fails in step 4 of Samba Diagnosis test ("nmblookup -B
BIGSERVER __SAMBA_") because no netbios (nmbd) is running.

Realtime LDAP Queues crashes
Hi all,
I've updated Asterisk trunk LDAP schema [0] [1] to include queues and other
attributes needed for a working LDAP backend (I'll open a bug to include these
changes on svn).
SIP users and dialplan are perfectly working, but when I call a queue the
whole Asterisk (1.6.2.0) crashes:

Dovecot Listescape plugin problem
Dovecot Version: 2.0.19
I'm on Ubuntu 12.04.3 using Zentyal with Dovecot for a mail Server. What I
try to setup is the possibility to use slashes ("/") in folder names inside
the IMAP account. Regularly if I name a folder "foo/bar", the system creates
me a folder named "bar" inside a folder named "foo". Listescape should give
me the possibility but it

Syslinux/pxeboot.0 trouble
Hi,
I've been hacking this week-end on a Vortex86[0] based device (ebox
3300) and had quite a few trouble with pxelinux.0 on it. Actually, I
narrowed the problem to the `pxenv' routine always returning 1. This
lead to an infinite loop while trying to transfer the config file. I'm
not sure what the problem is, but the FreeBSD PXE bootloader does work
on the same hardware, with the same

Weird Samba issues
I manage a Samba server that has been working nicely for a couple of
months (after it replace the old Samba server which worked happily for
years). We use LDAP for accounts, but don't use domain logons or
anything fancy.
All users have their home dir on Samba mapped to drive 'M:'. In their
home, there are symbolic links to various directories they're entitled
to access. Links
