Browsing Issues
Hi - I'm having some problems with network browsing using a Samba PDC (3.0.22) and I'd appreciate any hints that might push me in the right direction. One of the problems is that I am on a very crowded subnet that is being used by several different groups. There are a two separate WinNT/2000-style domains active on this network as well as an AD domain controller. Here are the

Samba AD member and connections from non-AD systems
Hi - I've scoured the mailing list archives as well as other help sources online and haven't figured out what my problem is or what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Scenario: I have a samba 3.5.5 server running on CentOS 5.5. This system is a member of an Active Directory domain. FYI, I am not the domain administrator, but I am an OU admin and can create

Three processes for each mongrel server?
Hi everyone. Zed, thanks for Mongrel. I''ve been running mongrel on my WiFi cafe site (http://wifi.earthcode.com), and it''s been great. It handled a front-page digg a few weeks ago without blinking. However, I''m setting up a staging environment right now, and I''m getting what looks like three mongrel processes *all listening on the same port* for each mongrel

Commands failing silently?
Hello all: I have a couple CentOS 4 servers (all up-to-date) that are having strange command failures. I first noticed this with a perl script that uses lots of system calls. Basically, sometimes a command just won't run: thoth(52) /tmp> ls thoth(53) /tmp> ls thoth(54) /tmp> ls thoth(55) /tmp> ls learner lost+found/ thoth(56) /tmp> ls learner lost+found/ thoth(57)

Getting rid of printer temp files
You need to add a semicolon and then the command rm %s to the end of your print command. However, you'll need to delete the files already there manually from Unix. print command = /bin/pt %p %s %M %U %T %a %v %m %I %d;rm %s Steve Litt At 03:22 AM 12/09/1999 +1100, you wrote: >I've set up Samba 2.0.6 for use as a print server on our company NT >network. Printer fun - controlling queue from Windows NT clients
I have set up a Samba server to act as our lab's print server for a bunch of NT clients. It works quite well, except for one thing. Nobody can control the print queue from Windows. When a job is sent, it never shows up in the Windows print queue window, even when there are lots of other jobs ahead of it. Using lpq under Linux shows the jobs just fine. Lprm et al work perfectly too. So I assume

Expected ... to define (rails version 1.2.2)
Hi, I''m having a mysterious problem that occurs when I''m using Rails 1.2.2. My app works fine when the environment.rb file reads: RAILS_GEM_VERSION = ''1.1.6'' When I change this to: RAILS_GEM_VERSION = ''1.2.2'' and try to load http://<mydevhost>:3000/srs/, I get the following traceback in the developer log: Expected

Control multi-threading in standard matrix product
Hi Ista, Maybe a little comment in the 'matmult {base}' doc page or on the 'options {base}' in the field 'matprod' would be useful to remind users to be cautious regarding BLAS multi-threading? I understand why this is a BLAS related issue and not directly an R related issue. Nonetheless, my concern was for non-advanced R users, that may don't even know what BLAS

forwarding stdin/out to remote socket
Hi! Some vnc clients has '-via ssh_gateway' option to simplify the setup of ssh port forwarding. Basically the option implements the following 3 steps: 1. Find local port available for listening. 2. Fork/exec ssh -L found_port:vnc_host:vnc_port ssh_gateway sleep some_delay 3. Connect to the found_port Although convenient the setup has its problems. First, it exposes the remote vnc

config.gem hassles (again)
Just when i think i''ve got my head around including gems with gem.config in my environment.rb file i hit another hurdle. The latest one involves redlcoth, which one of my plugins needs. my installed redcloth gem is in this folder: /var/lib/gems/1.8/gems/RedCloth-4.2.2/ and its main lib folder is called ''redcloth''. I managed to freeze it into my app by calling

File upload - first works fine, subsequent fail
Hi, I''m runing locomotive 2.0.7 with the RMagick bundle and file_column to handle file uploads and resizes. The first upload works perfectly, and the rest of the app continues to operate fine. If I go and try to add another file (i.e. a new product), Safari just sits there. No log messages anywhere, nothing. Hit stop, restart the app with Locomotive and refresh to repost the data -

PDC will create new roaming profiles but fails to load them on subsequent logons
Hello, I'm running Samba Version 3.4.7 on Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS. I'm using Samba as the Primary Domain Controller. Things that work: - Clients can logon - I can run logon scripts - Roaming profiles are created for new users on logon However, when I try to logon again with the same user, I invariably get this error message: "Your roaming profile is not available. You are logged on

HTMLDOC Table header row(s) to repeat on subsequent pages
Hello, I need to display table headers on each page in the pdf generated using HTMLDOC. For example, my table contains header as Name, Address, Age. It is displayed in first page. When the content of the table extends to next page, only the content is displayed and header is not displayed. If you note, in the attached pdf, table header is displayed only in the first page, pasted in top and not

booting pxelinux and subsequent tftp-reads
hello, I used to start a network installation from redhat or suse over PXE using the pxelinux component from the syslinux package. At the beginning of installation I want to read some files (e.g. the kickstart-file) over tftp from the pxe server. The problem is that from the point of view of the installation loader I don't know the ip-address and the tftp path prefix of the pxe server. Is

"INTx fd" busy error on VM startup at boot, subsequent startup okay
Hey all, I'm getting an error starting a libvirt managed qemu/kvm VM at physical host boot time, but manually starting it afterwards works fine. This is on a Ubuntu Wily i7-4790 box running Linux 4.2 and libvirt 1.2.16. There is a legacy (5V) PCI card being passed through to the VM, the error seems to relate to that. The error that always appears at boot in

I think whatever provides cdrdao also provides toc2cue which will convert. one of the flac TODOs is to take cdrdao toc files as input.
