Samba 3.0.4-Suse-Package with Suse 9.0
Hello, at a client's site I have to use Suse Linux 9.0 Pro for specific kernel-modules Suse Linux 9.1 does not provide anymore. To get the server up-to-date I took the Samba-rpms from sernet.de and ran a successful "rpm -Uvh". For an application it is necessary to print via the smb-backend of CUPS, I have to get a queue pointing at a printer located at a Win-PC. That printer is

Problems with port forwarding on Suse Linux 9.0
Problem: I'm trying to forward a port (say, port 25) of a SuSE 9.0 Linux system to an external client system (in this case running RedHat 9.0). It doesn't work, and the problem seems to be on the SuSE side. Details ======= On the client system, I run (where "suse-server" is the IP address of my SuSE server system to which I'm trying to connect) client> /usr/bin/ssh -f

Shared dir permissions problems
Hi everyone, We are having a ticklish problem with permissions on the swap, and other shared directories on our new server... (Samba 2.2.3a domain server with W2KPro clients.) We set up a number of directories in home which are subsequently mapped on the W2K clients. The shared directories are where the problem is. It seems that when a file is created, then the only user that can edit the

pam_stack.so for suse 9.0
I'm using suse 9.0 with samba3.xxx. I have joined the samba server to the nt domin using winbind and net join. Everything seems to be working great. I can pull domain+users as well as groups plus auto creat home directories. But every time I try to logon to the linux end it acts like it's going to work and then I get a message "<domian+user> account disabled". In the Samba

Suse 9.0 and Active Directory
I have a SuSE 9.0 Professional box that I've joined to my Active Directory domain using YAST. When I log out, I have a list of all of the domain user accounts to select from. Problem with Samba 2.2.8a-107 on SuSE 9.0 and 8.3 filenames
Hi... I noticed a bug with samba 2.2.8a on my SuSE 9.0 box. I use the UltraEdit text editor to edit my php files in a samba share. By default this text editor places .bak files next to the changed file. What I now noticed was this problem: I edit a file 1234567.php and it generates a file 1234567.php.bak. I can open and edit the 1234567.php normally. I edit a file 123456789.php with the same

Compilation problem SuSE 9.0
Hi I have problem running R (tried 1.8.0 and 1.7.1) under a fresh installed SuSE 9.0 using default settings: I'm not able to send plots to the monitor. Only postscript graphs are produced in external files. When assigning options(device='X11') and then plotting I get the message "Error in X11() : X11 is not available". Since this occured using the r-cran binary I tried
