Undefined references during compiling
I'm attempting to compile the latest samba on an old Mandrake 8.1
system. (Current samba there is 2.2.? and doesn't allow login from XP).
During compiling I get a number of error message such as
modules/vfs_recycle.po: In function `recycle_connect':
modules/vfs_recycle.po(.text+0x23): undefined reference to
`DEBUGLEVEL_CLASS'
modules/vfs_recycle.po(.text+0x31): undefined

compile errors samba 3.0.7 vfs
Hi all,
sorry for the long posting.
Samba 2.2.x is outdated. Trying to switch to 3.0.7 with no success. The
vfs layer is one of my current problems. Googled some time for an
solution for this:

smb_panic + Backtrace
Hi all
After running samba 3.0.0 for a couple of days I get messages like this in
my logs which look a bit suspicious :-) to me.
Anyone knows what this is all about? The result ist that copy jobs etc. are
just signing off.
Sorry for not entering this in the bugzilla thing. I am not too familiar
using it.
The samba version is 3.0.0 running against ldap 2.1.22
Here the globals from my smb.conf

Hello,
I would like to compile samba-latest on an old Linux system (SuSE 7.2).

Win2K3 ADS and Samba 3.0.1: Cannot access shares even with IP
Regarding the problem where you cannot view shares using the hostname
(netbios) of the server, but can if you use the IP address: I can view my
Samba shares from a Win2000 server using the IP, but I cannot access them.
Double-clicking on the shares in Windows Explorer results in the following
error:

Sharing network namespace between containers
Hello
Based on the lxc driver documentation, I am trying to create an xml to

nitwit's attempt to edit samba source
Hi Viktor!
Thanks for your try at this, I am already doing what you suggest: the
iptables - timestaps. But that is rather troublesome, and I would very
much samba to log this vital info.
Anyway, I tried what you suggested, and now it stopped compiling. :-)
Does this error perhaps tell you something, or are you just as clueless
as I am now:

apcupsd
Here's an odd one: I installed apcupsd, and it works with most of our
UPSs. I'd swear it worked on this one. Then I replaced the Gin-u-wine APC
batteries, which were dead, with new ones, non-APC. They're just dumb
batteries, no chips or whatever on them.
If I hook it up using a serial cable, I can get info. If I hook it up the
way I had it, with APC's weird USB cable - and this is

one opinion about searching samba docs for answers
It sure is hard to find info in the documentation/mailing list for a
specific error. If an error log message was created by smbd, nmbd, or
winbind, shouldn't the documentation contain a description, cause, and
possible solution?
Specific case in point:

specific client machines can't write / execute others can and oplock causes panic
Hi all hope you can help,
I have a mixed XP / 2K client deployment, and the samba server is running as a PDC. On most machines I have no problems, but on 2 2K machines and 1 XP machine I'm getting the same behaviour every time I either try to write the file or execute a file, no matter whether I log on to the domain or which userid I log on as. I'm also running debian woody 2.4.19, and

Segfault in Samba
Hi!
My Samba setup broke after upgrading Samba from 3.0.5-1 to 3.0.6-3 using
Debian apt-get upgrade. It seems to me, that the problems lies within
winbind. Any help would be appreciated!

3.0.21c safe_strcat string overflow w/ "net rpc share migrate files"
When migrating files off an existing Win2K file server using "net rpc
share migrate files" with Samba 3.0.21c on SuSE 9.3 Pro I stumbled
across a number of "string overflow by X in safe_strcat" errors on a few
files with non-ASCII characters:

Anonymous printing with User-level security
Can I set up anonymous (unauthenticated) printing on a samba server that is
also hosting user-level security? I have looked through FAQs and sample
setups and don't see it, but I figured I would ask.
Thanks in advance,

Problem with Win95 + DFS clients (fwd)
Hi,
I've found a problem with samba when printing from a client running win95
+ DFS. The print fails with a segmentation fault. The problem is that
Win95 does not return the proper file_fsp( smb_vwv0) when doing an IOCTL
request.This causes the file_fsp call in reply_ioctl (smbd/reply.c) to
fail cause a segmentation fault.
I do not understand how samba work, but here is my working patch

Virtio ballooning support for Lguest
Hi,
I am doing working on enabling Transcendent Memory(OLS '09) support on
lguest.
For the same, I need ballooning support for lguest. Is there an
implmentation of Virtio Balloon driver, that I can use for my purpose?
Could someone give me an insight, as to how to go about, for implementing
this myself, incase I dont find this patch...
Thankyou.
