Nagging performance issues with Vista
Hi All, I've got some performance issues with Samba and Vista that I just can't seem to figure out. Googling and fiddling has all been in vain up until now, so I'm not sure what I can do other than wait for Samba 4, but maybe someone here can find something I've missed. First off, the server is an Athlon 64 1.8GHz running Gentoo 2006.1, tested with both Samba 3.0.24 and

Linux CIFS-access problem since samba 3.0.25(a/b)
Hi there, at first, the following scenario is used in our environment: Server-Side: - One Samba PDC using 3.0.24 release with TDB-backend. - Some Samba member servers serving files, home-dirs, etc. Client-Side: - Windows XP-Clients. - Windows Vista Clients (testing). - some Linux Ubuntu Distro (Feisty) Clients, using CIFS to access the samba-shares. fstab-entry of the Ubuntu-clients:

PDF file not getting deleted in File Share Folder!
Hi We are facing an issue with Samba3.0.25b. Some pdf files are not getting deleted from Samba fileshare. The sequence to reproduce this bug is as follows. Copy 150 PDF files in a shared folder. Open the file share (FILE_SHARE) from Windows XP+SP2. 1. open 1.pdf file then close 1.pdf file 2. Delete the 1.pdf file. 3. now, open 2.pdf file then close 2.pdf file 4. Delete the 2.pdf file. Repeat

3.0.25 smbclient problem
I updated all my servers to 3.0.25 early this morning. Everything seems 100% A-OK except for the most surprising thing, all my Windows and Macintosh clients, no problems. But I'm having severe difficulty with the 3.0.25 smbclient. If I use smbclient from 3.0.24 it too can connect to my 3.0.25 servers without issue. Its bizarre. Before I go into it let me say, I've got some 3.0.25

3.0.25 breaks "username map"?
Hi there I was using "username map" under 3.0.24 so that when I connected from DOM\jhaar under (ADS Win2K3) Windows, it was mapped to my local "jhaar" Unix account - with homedir "/home/jhaar", etc. However, when I upgraded to 3.0.25, I started getting NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE errors - even when just trying to list the shares. This occurred using smbclient as well as
