Domain member seems to work, wbinfo -u not (update2)
New update.   I now have done about 6 machines. 2 with samba 4.2.10 work fine, 2 not. 1 with samba 4.3.7 works fine, 1 not.   I saw Jelmer updated the samba to 4.3.8 in sid, so i recompiled these to jessie. I upgraded the 4.3.7 to 4.3.8 Same result. Wbinfo -g works, -u not. For both servers.   I notice one strange thing here. I have 2 servers, both samba 4.2.10, all stock debian

Lessons learned
Hello, I would like to share few things I have learned over time in my attempt to integrate all my Linux clients to an existing corporate Windows 2000 Active Directory (AD). I am a Linux admin for a small division in a large company and do not posses any special rights as far as AD goes. I ONLY have privileges on my division part of the tree in AD. Goals: - Integrate all Linux client to

idmap backend ad well-known-sids 512 & 513
Hi, we are in the process of testing a migration from our NT Classic Domain with OpenLdap to Samba AD. In our test setup migration of all accounts, groups and computer accounts went well using the classicupgrade path. Next step now is testing how to add a member server for file server services. We were able to get the server to join the domain and also idmapping works mostly as expected.

Samba, ldap and winbind - almost there!
Hi All, I'm in the process of setting up samba with ldap and winbind and haven't been able to find an article anywhere on how to do this. I've managed to troll together everything except the directory setup. I'm stuck on what I need to add into the directory (ldif files) to make it all go. I've included the steps I took and so hopefully it'll be easy to spot what

Hi, I've got some problems with winbind and ADS Domain Membership stuff. I've joined the domain without problems with "kinit admin@MY.DOMAIN" and "net ads join", i can see the machine account in AD with ldapbrowser. Klist give me three tickets, as say in the documentation, OK. I created the idmap entry in my openldap (with samba3 schema), OK. I've set the ldap
